they did it the right way and went almost all splits and eps, which means that they write in short bursts when they actually feel like writing; concentrating ideas on 2-3 awesome songs at a time, rather than 12 terrible songs

ATCONK really isn't bad at all. It isn't overly wanky and drawn out like their other stuff, it goes straight for the throat throughout the whole thing. It kind of sounds like if Effigy-era Suffocation wanted to be 'epic' or something.
