Evidently i was wrong about everything i said,im so sorry
|
tuning to D and C is so stupid. guitars sound so much worse when they're tuned down that low. i dont care how "heavy" you think it sounds, it's retarted.
Master of Puppets, one of the best metal albums of all time was played compltely in standard... and look at St. Anger... in Drop C. You can really hear the difference in sound quality if you play the low E string tuned to E, and then to D or C. /ends rant. |
I play in Drop D and that's great. Heavy + still able to do leads/solos

My band downtunes because it sounds good to us......it creates darker chords and sounds really good for metal if used properly. However, when all a band does is downtune and play really fast, simple riffs, that's when it's overkill........... It's all in how something is used (or abused). |
Yup.
Like breaking benjamin... Damn they are hardcore.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: |
I love all tunings. My band has only 5 songs and 3 of them are D standard, one of them is E standard, and the third is drop A. We goof off on the drop A song lol. Still, it sounds kinda cool

Drop B & A are too low. It gets towards "Toneless", for me at least. |
It depends on what guitar you use.
Some guitars necks can't have that much "nonstress" and it sounds like ****. My BC Rich takes it like a champ! My Jackson can't do it. |

I've never liked any BC Rich guitars, I've always felt I could get a far better guitar for a lot less. It seems that an "ehh" Jackson played leagues above a nice BC Rich. Just my observations and opinion though. |
My BC Rich obviously owns most guitars for drop tuning. The strings aren't even that slack in E, an octave lower.

DR extra heavy 11 gauge strings on jackson rx10d

:)[/QUOTE] You must not like playing leads...at all :) I don't mind downtunings...drop A is a mite bit excessive, but Nile can still pull it off prett well. |
