On an unrelated note, when I get back from dinner, I'm gonna start a discussion thread that's gonna blow y'alls minds.
Promise remains unfulfilled.

I might be going to see Sound Tribe Sector 9 on the 16th. I missed out seeing moe. with my friend this summer and I was sorta pissed I missed them. Has anyone seen STS9 live?

masada 08-07-2005 08:06 PM

moe. sucked when I saw them live. One of their guitarists wasn't there, and Warren Haynes filled in. Their regular guitar player sucked, and I think they sound a little like Phish, and I don't like Phish.

Their rhythm section is great though.

moe. sucked live? I've heard they are pretty good live. I've also got some good bootlegs that I enjoy too. Did Warren sing at all?

It looks like I am going to go see Q and Not U, Minus the Bear, and Say Hi To Your Mom.

moe... sucking... live?!

/head explodes

Warren is simply a great guitarist and is one of my guitar heros. I respect the man a lot.

Whats the deal with AudioScrobbler?

Little Man being Erased 08-07-2005 09:25 PM

Looks like they're making a pretty new site.

6Stringer 08-07-2005 09:46 PM

They're building a new site, I tried to sign up the other day and couldn't. What program do you use AS with? Winamp?

And with that I say goodnight MX. And to JonM if you see this I shall be at the AIM chat tomorrow.

Way to call in sick. And thankfully it's going to be Mingus, too. Goodnight.

You can use it with any media player, you just download the corresponding plugin from the AS site when you sign up.

What are some examples of "angular" riffs? I thought I knew what it meant, but I want to be sure.

Hahah. Think nervous post-punk music that sort of sounds like funk but is too nerdy.

You mean it's always a bad thing? I thought it was that jerky Talking Heads stuff.

Zappa 08-07-2005 10:27 PM

It's not a bad thing at all. Talking Heads fits my description perfectly.

I don't know yet  I think I may have just posted in a spam thread or something.

Glitterati 08-08-2005 07:34 AM

I went skimboarding yesterday, and I got horribly sunburned. I couldn't sleep because of the pain, so that's why I'm posting here at 6:34 in the morning.

Stupid sunburns

sweboy 08-08-2005 07:38 AM

Skimboarding? Please inform the uninformed. Is it some kind of surfing?

Glitterati 08-08-2005 07:44 AM
Skimboarding? Please inform the uninformed. Is it some kind of surfing?
For skimboarding, you go out into shallow water, maybe about ankle-deep. You take a board that's shaped like a surfboard (only smaller) and toss it out onto the water, and then you run, jump, and skid along the water.

Sounds like fun, I had never heard of it either.

Ive been skimboarding before. I then realized that I have zero balance skills and spent 2 hours busting my ass before giving up. :/
