Does it? I got Charlie Hodge off a Hicks fan site.

Hmm.

Edit: I just looked around, and everywhere seems to say Elvis. Guess I was wrong.
Can you upload some more Bill Hicks? I'd appreciate it!

Iai 08-06-2005 01:18 PM

Hahaha. Ah, why not. Rant In E-Minor coming up.

Out of interest, since you like Ardal O'Hanlon, you ever seen Dylan Moran do stand-up?

Syncratic 08-06-2005 01:19 PM
Out of interest, since you like Ardal O'Hanlon, you ever seen Dylan Moran do stand-up?
Nah...I've only seen Ardal on Comedy Central and I love it.....I'd be open to hearing new comedians, so if you have any, I'd be willing to give it a listen.

I'm re-listening to Arizona Bay, I love it so much.

Iai 08-06-2005 01:23 PM

I only have a Dylan Moran DVD - he's never officially released a CD. He used to have a sitcom here (in the UK) called Black Books, which is one of the funniest programs ever. Anyway, he's also Irish, and similar to O'Hanlon, except funnier (imo, obviously). He does quite a bit of material on music, too.

I'll check it out, he sounds cool.

Now Playing.

Artemician 08-06-2005 02:14 PM

I'm starting to wish Blair would put up another one of his semi-useless rants again, at least those keep me somewhat entertained for a short period of time.

Otherside 08-06-2005 02:17 PM

So I was flipping through the booklet of The Bends, and at the bottom of one of the pages, it says "dedicated to the late bill hicks". Are they talking the Bill Hicks?

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-06-2005 02:25 PM

Yes, both Tool and Radiohead have been influenced by THE Bill Hicks.
Yes, both Tool and Radiohead have been influenced by THE Bill Hicks.
Hmm. All right, although I guess it's not as big on Radiohead's side :p

Artemician 08-06-2005 02:32 PM
Hmm. All right, although I guess it's not as big on Radiohead's side :p
Yeah, I think it was more along the lines of them paying tribute to him upon hearing of his death rather than because of any direct influence that he may or may not have had on the band.

On a different note....

Dear God, I haven't listened to Tool in months. They really have been out for too long. I should go and dig up Lateralus and Ænima again.

Futuro 08-06-2005 02:52 PM

the drummers will probably appreciate this more than most people

How did Bill Hicks die again?

Matter 08-06-2005 03:34 PM

>to faith+1^^^hmm i wonder...

Trintar_VIII 08-06-2005 03:35 PM

I find (-) Ions to be an important track, not necessarily just filler. The transition of that into Third Eye is absolutely amazing in my opinion. I get a funny feeling when Bill Hicks is talking in Third Eye as the drums are getting louder. I think it's from (-) Ions setting the mood, because I didn't feel the same way about Third Eye when I heard it on Salival. Wasn't it mentioned previously on here that static is what people hear when they get an OBE? I think that might be why I get that weird feeling. Anyone else have that happen before? I get that feeling nearly every time that I'm really listening to those songs.

Mr Herb 08-06-2005 03:43 PM

**** I rarely listen to third eye and much less to ions

Trintar_VIII 08-06-2005 03:44 PM

You should try it out sometime. Sit in a dark room and play the songs loud enough so that no other sounds are heard around you. It's quite an amazing experience when it works.

Syncratic 08-06-2005 03:45 PM

Herb, I Am Vikingcore wants you banned.....

I don't find -ions to be an intro into Third Eye...still a cool track, though.

Mr Herb 08-06-2005 03:47 PM

woah! why? were?

Syncratic 08-06-2005 03:51 PM

Bill Hicks died of cancer......which kind, I don't know......

Mr Herb 08-06-2005 03:52 PM

I think he got cancer from smoking to much or something

Syncratic 08-06-2005 03:53 PM
I think he got cancer from smoking to much or something
Wouldn't surprise me.....he's smoking on the cover of 'Rant in E-Minor'.
