Upper-to-the-Decker, shit you not.
Here's the cover of the new Tool album!(Note, "The album artwork will feature more editing. This is not the final cover! That's why it may look more or less fishy. The only difference will be some more color enchancing, and better font for the words"): The title "Meiosis" refers to the development of human life. Meiosis is the splitting of cells through sexual reproduction. On the cover artwork, notice the almost 'splitting' detail of the two masses. It symbolises how we as beings have evolved. Basically, a cell goes through Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase. These are all the stages of Meiosis, and they are also all the track names on the cd! Pretty cool, eh? There's also a track called Cytokinesis, which technically is not a stage of Meiosis. Cytokinesis is when the two haploid daughter cells are formed as an end result. The songs will go in order of the phases. Basically, the maturing of the songs will grow, and there should be an insane climax at the end of the album. "The cumilation of our many long, sweaty, and bloody days in the recording studio has produced an exorbitant, un-thinkable, collection of life-altering noise. I can't give away the secret just yet, but the new album will contain something that has NEVER been done before, as its been previously thought of as too treacherous to a human's health. We, TOOL, will single-handedly change the face of not only music, but the universe, with this new album." -Maynard James Keenan; Tool As you can see, these guys know what they're talking about. They must've spent HOURS, sitting in rooms, researching this stuff. This album will kick ass! |
That cover looks pretty good.
And this is so wrong. /shakes head |
The cover looks more or less fake. The album sounds like a nice idea though.
|
That sounds pretty cool. Can't wait.

I see someone's finally taking biology in high school this year.
PS: the new album really is supposedly influence by Meshuggah, but that's about all that's true about Dude3's posts. You know how gullible Tool fans are so stop it right now before you hurt them :( PS: Album covers are not rectangular :) |
They always have a title track, though, therefore, your/whoever's theoretical joke is flawed!
linkage? Ian- Yes, they are. |

It was fun for a moment though. PS: If my memory serves me right(Iron Chef oh shi), a square is technically a rectangle. So, awha now!......... :upset: To Jake, yeah I see what you're saying about the title track thing. But, the song titles make up the title. Or, maybe they could put an opening and closer, that were both like Meiosis I and Meiosis Strikes back. *By the way, I totally pulled everything from my ass on that description, so NoB's beware! I will admit though, that the Meisosis type concept for an album is actually an amazing idea, in my opinion. I actually may use that one day.... |

linkage? Ian- Yes, they are.
No way, the jacket for Lateralus is because it covers up the rectangular jewel case, but the booklets are usually square because, like the vinyl covers of old, a square case is the best way to enclose a circular object and then stack it so that they dont roll away :) |
Meiosis, yeah........
|
You had me goin'
|
You were down, no? |
Tool would not release this kind of information.

Well, I had Tommy by The Who in my hand at the time, and the cover encompasses the entire front case, so it's a rectangle, I do get's you're correct though. Bastard. :p Very cool idea, though, sir. |
I sent out my classical education email. Anyone who wants to comment on it can......
But only if they want to. |
Get my e-mail Moses?

I'm downloading Ballade in Gm. 15 percent.
|
this is old and off topic, but i'm so happy to see a newer band still use analog recording. looks like the edit digital, but that would explain the hiss i hear a high volume in the car. it's awesome, i was the only one at the art institute who actually preferred tape rather than HD. so yeah for tool for doing it the old fashion better way.
|
Just here slowly dying in anticipation for the new Tool album, and what they could possibly conceive after the brilliance in Lateralus. Danny Carey has been one of the largest influences to me as a drummer. Anybody seen Salival.....heard they were selling it on E-bay for 500.00 bucks....for a DVD!....I'd pay way more though.....lol.....
Anyways....TOOL KICKS A$$!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Quick question to all Tool fanboys in here, What genre is Tool anyway? Me and the guitar playing in my band spent about 2 hours arguing over this.
|

It's debatable. There isn't enough bands like Tool for it even to matter. |
ok sooo some of you told me the new cd is coming out thursday and some of you said they were lying to me. which is it?
|
They're lying.
I realise you guys have nothing better to discuss, but you need to get over the pranks. |

|
So I take it there is still isn't any real news about the new album?
A part of me dies inside each and every day..... |

Now you're being completely serious? I don't have to ask anyone else? This is the complete truth? |
Tool is hard rock/prog. They're not really metal, just about as hard as you can get without fully transfering to that realm. Sort of like Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, or even Van Halen. Although I think Tool is even more clear-cut because they lack the strong guitar presence that usually defines metal, although the frantic drumming usually makes up for it.
