I went to ozzfest but i got there so late that i ended up missing maidens first 4-5 songs. I got there durring the trooper, so missed alot :(

Josh 01-10-2006 04:10 AM

i liked how they missed off the slow intro to Murders in the Rue Morgue, it worked much better going into the drum-roll and "i remember it as plain as day..." from The Ides Of March. i wish they hadn't dropped Charlotte the Harlot for Wrathchild though.

blackthorne 01-10-2006 05:21 AM

thats one awesome concert

Yah, honestly, from the looks of how things have been going we'll probably get wrathchild again for upcomming tours. Bruce just cant sing wrathchild, IMO

Josh 01-10-2006 05:51 AM

he can sing it well, i prefer the live version to the studio version, it's generally more energetic. they could even do it with another song, rather than swapping them, as Wrathchild's so short.

:chug:**3000th Post**:chug:

Both unique

Josh 01-10-2006 08:12 AM

i thought Bruce did well on the Di'Anno stuff at Leeds this summer, but that's just how feel about it.

Lord Abortion 01-10-2006 10:17 AM

What about the version of Remember Tomorrow from Reading Festival?

Blank 01-10-2006 11:56 AM

I hear there was bad blood between Zakk Wydle and maiden during ozzfest.

Why does she hate Bruce?

blackthorne 01-10-2006 12:28 PM
Why does she hate Bruce?
i think steve said something about iron maiden not being low enough for a reality show and she started hating iron maiden

Blank 01-10-2006 12:29 PM

That sounds like Maiden :chug:

blackthorne 01-10-2006 12:47 PM

yep but maiden own ozzy so much \m/

YDload 01-10-2006 01:04 PM

It's not so much the two bands hating each other, but two people affiliated with each of them (Bruce Dickinson and Sharon Osbourne). Still, as long as she's running Ozzfest there's not gonna be a spot for Maiden on it anymore :(

then their aint gonna be a spot for me at ozzfest either

a showcase of my elite loyalty to everything maiden

YDload 01-10-2006 01:37 PM

Well I would have liked to go last year because of not only Maiden, but Mastodon. They're probably the best purely metal band of the past five years.

Lord Abortion 01-10-2006 01:37 PM

Well, it sucks anyway, hasn't got anything on Gigantour.

Without maiden... Megadeth & Dream Theater>>>>>>>>>>>>all the artists on Ozzzfest put together

so true

Sph 01-10-2006 01:57 PM

Maiden changed singers at some point, right?

Lord Abortion 01-10-2006 02:01 PM

No, no, they've had Blaze Paul Dickinson throughout their entire career.

the_uber_penguin 01-10-2006 02:02 PM
Maiden changed singers at some point, right?
Yes. Paul Di'Annio sung on Iron Maiden and Killers, and Blaze Bayley sung on X-Factor and Virtual XI.

The rest is Bruce.

Sph 01-10-2006 02:03 PM

I've just got around to listening to some of their stuff again. It's been a while.
