im only 13 and know barely anythign about music but guys lets be honest metallica are the best band in metal history name a band with better riffs and solos kirk is the best guitarest alive in a metal band keep up the entrys :thumb: ..........i have there concert in texas 1997 (cunning stunts) and i wish i could have been there :angry:

Kid, I'm glad you like Metallica, but you should broaden your horizons more. And dont label people as 'best' in anything, you'll get flamed.

Actually that is a very weak live preformance, not just for Metallica, but for any band in general. In '97 Metallica was out of ideas and out of the whole genre of metal entirely. oh and as for bands with better riffs than Metallica and guitarists than Kirk

Metallica are 100% over-rated

metallicas old stuff is way better then st anger by far but st anger was just them jamming so it wasnt as hard

It might be one of the best, but not [I]the[/I] best. Metallica is my favorite band, but I know Kirk isn't the best lead guitarist out there, I know Lars isn't the best drummer, etc.

I doubt they would have let u in. U were probally only 5 or 6 years old.But none the less it's a great concert.It's where i first really started to get into Metallica :)

B) Hetfield writes most of the riffs, the only riffs Kirk writes usually are the solos
C) Maiden switches between the three leads very often, you can tell
D) All three Maiden guitarists share solo duty, but the bass is up-front 98% of the time
E) Learn how to spell

Oh, by the way: Whoever said that Lars and James weren't influenced by Maiden, Lars and James were influenced by NWOBHM. That includes Maiden, Motorhead, Diamond Head, Sabbath (I think), Priest, etc.

Also, to the same douche, stop being a fanboi and figure it out. Marty Friedman and Chris Poland, Dimebag Darrell, Dave Murray, Jason Becker, etc. They can all run CIRCLES around Kirk. Even Hetfield can. And he's rhythm.
