sorry it's english...
ah alright, never heard of it, but i guess knowing that now, you can understand how i could make that mistake, and i still stand by my opinion that league of extraordinary gentlemen sucked horribly. Damn this thread and its frequent name changes.
Jeremy IP banned a whole part of Australia to keep him off, which is cool.
You didn't know he was a mod? The new Star Wars weren't that bad. I talked to him on AIM once. His name was xHex PhishX I believe.
My old aim was 'Hexed Phish', my new aim is 'Hombre Del Tamb'. Who were/are you? |

Did you have to do it in front of a class, or was it just you and a teacher? I'm staying in Davenport right now, it's right next to Orlando. We're heading back to NC tommorow, which sucks, because I really like it here. I could move here in 2 seconds and have no second thoughts. |

i could never live in florida, too hot and humid. Same with new jersey, and the same with germany like right now. Seriously if i could find a place in the world where the temperature remained around like 15°C (thats around 60ish fahrenheit for all you amis like myself until i got convereted to the metric system in germany and cant even think in fahrenheit anymore) all year round, id be set.
Yeah, Florida's great. Sometimes I miss living there. :(
I get tired of the heat all the time and all the people. But other than that I like it here. |
I don't think I'd like to live permanently in Florida either. I like staying there for holidays, though.
How many times have you seen it now?
Four. Apparently it stops showing on Sunday though :(
ah alright, never heard of it, but i guess knowing that now, you can understand how i could make that mistake, and i still stand by my opinion that league of extraordinary gentlemen sucked horribly. I think the film'd make a lot more sense if you'd seen the show first. It is a very good show though. Probably the darkest comedy show there's been.
Also, name change, eh?
It was Riva's idea. *points* |
Hey guys, back from camping. What's new? Besides the name?
GurS, I'm about to play Doom 3 too  (new computer) |
May I just say that the fighting that went on earlier is ridiculous. My take on the thread's "problems" has been the same as it always has ever since rep. Too little actual conversation, and stupid posting. I don't give a crap about how short the posts are: length doesn't make it spam. It's just dumb posting.
That said, I personally think certain people that come in here and call everybody who is still a regular "a faggot" or "idiots" or "assholes" for continuing to be a regular and contribute to this thread is a little out of their depth and certainly exceeding their percieved authority. There's a ton of high and mighty words here about improving the "community spirit," which tends to me to look like a synonym for "don't come in just to say hi and talk about your day." I'm thinking to myself: what is the point then? Why do we have a community thread if these are not the things we feel like talking about? I'm not saying spam isn't a problem. But on the other hand, I think this method of Antihero's of just coming in and insulting everyone invariably, by name, and foolishly holding everyone to his standard of posting, is just as flawed and CERTAINLY does absolutely NOTHING to improve the "spirit" of the thread. Especially when you start taking it out on whipping boys who have markedly improved their posting abilities in this thread, like Ray, it just proves that you give absolutely no credit where it's due. Who gave you the right to be this way? If you don't want to post here because you don't like the community, then fine, don't post here, and find a better community, like Jason has. All I know is that I like the community here. I enjoy talking about my day, and updating the cyclical conversations about relationships, movies, and whatnot. I don't consider myself to be a bad poster because I am one of the people that help move it along at such a quick pace. I'm frankly a little peeved that such an insinuiation could be made, especially from a user who has been lambasted for not only spamming, but insisting on it. What is a community thread for if not for off-topic conversation? Who gives a **** if Ray doesn't often post in R+M? He usually posts in Sports: he's got a forum that he likes to hang out in. Nobody ever bitched at me for only staying in R+M for the first five months of my membership. What difference does it make if Ray likes the community here and decides to post here frequently, even if he doesn't so much in the rest of the R+M forum? It really should not matter. Antihero talked yesterday about disliking the way this thread is exclusive to new users (which I haven't seen a whit of evidence for BTW), but isn't this another form of elitist exclusion? Saying "you must post in other threads in R+M to be a part of R+M's community?" That's just ****ing retarded, sorry. I appreciate that Antihero says he's learned a lot from me, since he's still a good friend of mine as far as I'm concerned, but frankly, I'm tired of this constant combat between the people that are here for a fun talk and the people that I think have started to become a little intoxicated with their percieved command of respect on the forums. That's the real business that's hurting the community in this thread. This is totaly seperate from the spam issue, as far as I'm concerned: it's just simply certain people coming in ****ting on their favorite toilet seats, with no real attention to their actual posting, and that's a deplorable way to behave. What on earth is the point of having the Community thread if off-topic conversation isn't encouraged, if having a lot of people moves it at a fast pace, if we aren't allowed to be in it for whatever reason? I thought that was what the ****ed thing was for. I have to go to work now. The last thing I want to do is continue this stupid dynamic, but seriously, I think a little reality check is required. |
Good call on the name, this thread has been in a terrible state. I seriously think that bans should be given out to the large scale spammers. I also completely agree with Cain's entire post above me :)
So I have found out that on Tuesday I have to stand in a room with 60 fellow pupils, head teacher (and other key staff at my school), professional artists and the press and talk through my scuplture designs. This is so friggin' scary :( NP:NoFx-The Seperation of Church and Skate |
That's crazy, MXican. I wouldn't be able to do it. The talking in front of people thing wouldn't bother me, it would be the talking about something that I designed part that would get me. I hate talking about the things that I create. I'm one of those who prefers a "to each his own" philosophy when it comes to understanding art.
Also, I agree with everything Cain said. This thread needs to become considerably less hostile. |

Also, I agree with everything Cain said. This thread needs to become considerably less hostile.
Same here. Afternoon, gentlemen. Figured out GuitarPro (sort of) and can't wait to start using it. NP: You're Better Off Dead - Children of Bodom \m/ |
Guitar Pro is the single most useful program when it comes to learning guitar and composing music. Finale gets honorable mention, but it's too confusing to me. The percussion tracks in GP can be confusing at first, but then you'll become a loser like me and have all the main codes memorized (42=closed hihat, 38=snare, 36=bass, etc).
|
Cain- Extremely well put. :)
MXican- do you have any pictures of your sculptures? Also, is your forum up? Bus- Jumbucket has been complaining about how this thread has turned into a "Pissed off elitist circle-jerking spamfest." Then, Cain outdid him in that last post^^ How was camping? Did you eat lots of smores? Smores own. |

 Yeah, I still need to figure it out some. What I already found out is what will become most useful...taking the tempo down. haha. I already downloaded some Bodom tabs, Machine Head, Stratovarius, Killswitch Engage and Iron Maiden. Unfortunately, I probably won't have time to work with it today. :upset:
MXican- do you have any pictures of your sculptures?
MXican does sculptures? There's a feature that lets you slow the tempo down to whatever you want it at, then increase it slowly each time you play it. A speed-training feature, I believe it's called. It's either F9 or F10 that brings this up.
MXican does sculptures? I must've missed that...
See below. Ah, I'll have to try that. That will come in really handy.
See below.
MXican: Pretty awesome! Good luck! :thumb: |
Cain - Amen. That's basically how I post here. I come in say hi, talk about my day and ask about everyone elses.
|
Talking about your day is okay. "Hi guys. sup?" (and variations on the theme) isn't, though.
|
I actually didn't eat any smores this time :amaze:
I went swimming, played frisbee, listened to music, watched the Pistons, not much happened. |
Talking about your day is okay. "Hi guys. sup?" (and variations on the theme) isn't, though.
Yeah, and I think that's what AntiHero was talking about. I strongly agree with Cain that anyone should be able to post here though. |
Was it like a family outing, or did you go with some friends?
Frisbee owns. Bart- Were you the one that changed the name again, or was it Jelle again? If it was you, nice. The sad part is that it's becoming all too true. :-/ |
