Tangerine Dream while stoned.
|
The Pastels should have hired someone who could sing.
|
Gnarls Barkley, The Faint, and Tom Petty.
|
Morphine is dope, and somehow they speak to high-schoolers fairly well.
I have been listening to Odyshape by the Raincoats. This continues the trend that perceptive WHYBDL thread readers have noticed I've been on. Downloaded a ton of chick-powered post-punk the last couple days. This is a very strange album, but it's also neat. It kind of reminds me of a more abrasive Moondog. |

Girl Talk is rad.
Zappa, you might like The Organ. They're a chick band with post-punk tinges. Very Smiths/Cure influenced. |
The Chemical Brothers
i've really been enjoying the latest from isobel campbell & mark lanegan. it's called ballad of the broken seas - they're sound is very beauty meets beast. i can't stop singing 'do you wanna'!! i love it!!!!
Listen to (Do You Wanna) Come Walk With Me? (I assume Lexxy you are a woman) Anyway.... |
The Chemical Brothers

I've been listening to their self-titled off and on for the last couple of weeks. The song "Life on the Line" is one of my favorite things right now. |
I've been meaning to check out Odyshape for a while now. Their s/t is good.
Dig: Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow Minutemen - 3-Way Tie(For Last) Flaming Lips - 1984-1990: A Collection of Songs... Beastie Boys - Licensed To Ill |
Wilco - Summerteeth
Except for "Can't Stand It", this album sucks. Wilco sucks. Jeff Tweedy is a shit lyricist too.
You're a shit lyricist! |
Your mum's a **** lyricist...in bed.
Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup Mindless Self Indulgence - You'll Rebel to Anything (As Long as It's Not Challenging) Sunn O))) - Black One |

Hot Water Music - Caution!
|
Trail of Dead - Worlds Apart
Ya just an FYI for anyone who might need to know. These guys put on one of the best live shows I've seen so much energy. |
Ornette Coleman - Shape of Jazz to Come
Food - Veggie Yeh I'm diggin' jazz just now. That Food album is great Asymm, and something I'd never have discovered on my own. |
Minutemen - 3-Way Tie(For Last)
Listening to this one now. So good. |
That Food album is great Asymm, and something I'd never have discovered on my own.
Awesome man, glad you're enjoying it. The Byrds - Fifth Dimension Sickoakes - Seawards |
Butthole Surfers
Gogol Bordello I'm still getting into Gogol, but I am officially convinced the Butthole Surfers are one of the coolest bands ever. |
Picked up a few records today but only had time to listen to one before I leave for work:
Kate Bush - Hounds of Love |
Caetano Veloso - Transa
Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness' First Finale |
Cyne
This is some of the best rap music I've heard in quite some time. |
^Good man. Evolution Fight is the shit. I think I'll listen to it now.
Today I dug a whole lot of Flaming Lips and that's pretty much it. |
Did you guys get turned on to Evolution Fight by me.. or through your own devices?
Because I've been whoring that album for nearly a year now. http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=6125 if you're interested. |
It was your review that basically got me into them.
