i found that one rather boring imo

I used to think it was their weakest but it's their only one that doesn't meander around with a bunch of dumb Egyptian crap for minutes at a time.

I mean, it's cool that theyre trying to be different to a degree but they put way too much emphasis on the "HOLY **** WE HAVE EGYPTIAN INFLUENCES" and not enough on just writing solid songs.

The best part is Karl Sanders often fails to differentiate between Egyptian and Mesopotamian mythology. But I guess that since he plays a guitar twice his size that's also impossible to tune (and he points this out at every possible opportunity) that he's allowed to be completely off base with his subject matter.

People often assume that all of Sanders's lyrical work is based solely on Egyptian mythology. It's not. He's even been known to center some lyrics around whack **** like H.P. Lovecraft, amongst other topics. So I wouldn't assume things necessarily.

That is a decent album, but I think the newer stuff has a slightly broader sound.

I could never get into Nile. They seem like the kind of death metal band you like when you're first getting into death metal and you're getting over your mallcore phase.

Decapitated is about as tight a band as i've ever heard, any other bands I should check out?

heh yeah kind of, they're a decent band but they thrive on their gimmicks

I've only suffered through a couple songs of their's and it just sounds like watered down death metal mixed with nu-metal. Band sucks hard.

did you check out Odious Mortem yet? I suggested them a few pages back dunno if youre interested but meh.

Odious Mortem is not tight at all, they sound like they're just jamming out a bunch of random tech crap and recording it.

Their latest album is pretty tight and cohesive.

all the bands KC Howard plays drums for are good, Odious Mortem, Decrepit Birth and Element
