Good lad, another one on the net. If you are a reading style tool fan, the first pages of this thread are brilliant reading. Dont try and read the whole thing though |
Once again....does anybody have ( ) by Sigur Ros?
Late on answering this, but I had to.
A lot of people don't seem to understand something that's so obvious to me, that it drives me crazy. I have never, not once, in my entire life, bought a CD from a band just to support the band. Besides raising their sales by one unit, the band sees VIRTUALLY NO MONEY from CD purchases. If you're really interested in supporting a band, go to shows and buy merchandise there, and download every album you want. That'll save you a lot of money and you'll still be supporting the band more than you ever will if you bought 30 copies of each of their CDs. I buy CDs because I love the experience of opening a CD, having it in my hands, looking at the artwork, adding it to my CD collection. I don't download leaks because I like the anticipation of going to the store and buying the CD the day it comes out, opening it up and having fresh, exciting music to listen to.
(a late reply for your late reply) I know what you mean... And it's true that the band won't see any money for it.. But it will help them, if you buy one of their cd's. Especially a band like PT who need all the cd sales as they can get.. If it wasn't for the fact that all PT records will be reiussed, I'd say go ahead and buy it used! hehe |

I've never found any of them at a CD store besides the greatest hits collection, and of course In Absentia and Deadwing. And ordering them new from the internet becomes a really pricy affair because of shipping, etc. |
Huh? Pricey? .. And when you talk about buying used.. Do you mean from a store? Or from some sleazy lying scumbag of an amazon salesman?
Because it's from a store, then I'm pro supporting used cd stores ;) |
Yea except I haven't been able to find a cd store that doesn't rip people
off all the one's I got here are like15 to 18 buck's per pop but if you are looking for something special those are the places to go |
It would be nice if CDs were only $10, but instead they go up to $18 and $19. It seems a bit expensive, but some CDs are definately worth the money.
Edit: Though I did find Rush - 2112 for only $7.50 :thumb: |

try hastings
you can special order cds they dont have for free, although since they probably dont have the stuff anyone here listens to in stock it will take at least a week to get it in it only costs around $15, and it'll give you something to live for for a few more days |

LISTEN No.1 is my favourite. |

Wow.. I didn't like that at all...
|
Moses- wtf@ Nirvana being more abstract than Lateralus.
Please, try and explain this to me before I cry. :p NP: Deadwing- Porcupine Tree Don't worry, I'm not going to start another giant 4 page PT discussion. |
Don't worry, I'm not going to start another giant 4 page PT discussion.
Why not? :p |
I'll be looking for more Porcupine Tree, I have In Abstenia, and I love it.
Anywho, anybody speculate as to the costumes Maynard will wear on the next Tool tour? |
It's not about being funny. i like how you used the "please?" It makes it sound like tool is a band that i should take seriously.
You forgot to add, "That was coldblooded" Jeez... I picked up Signify (2 disc reissue) by Porcupine Tree a few days ago, from HMV for only 14 quid - quite pleased about that really. |
Out of interest, how many of you have heard Arizona Bay by Bill Hicks? If the name doesn't click, Bill Hicks is the comedian included in the liners to Aenima with the quote 'Another Dead Hero'. He supported Tool on tour a couple times, too. Those samples on Third Eye ("Those musicians who enhanced your lives....." etc.) are from Hicks.
Anyway, hearing Arizona Bay puts Aenima in a different light. In fact, I'd go as far as calling everything on Aenima (not just Third Eye and the title track) a tribute to Hicks. I can upload it if you like. |

Edit: Though I did find Rush - 2112 for only $7.50 :thumb:
prices that high leaves some people to do P2p sharing which is cheaper but has a backdwon on it.... :upset: |
