Bringing Back The Bloodshed is the newest, right?
Yes. |
I have a question about Overkill...
Is Tim still drumming, or is it this new guy Ron Lipnicki?? |
It's not Tim. I saw them a while ago, and Tim wasn't in the band
|
Yeh, I asked on the Overkill forum, and it is the guy I thought it was....Ron Lipnicki. I guess that forum (Overkill) just hasn;t been updated for quite a while then...
And if anyone cares, Overkill are currently in studio :) |
The new album better be better than the last one, or I'm going to kick Blitz in the nuts when I see him.
|
bummer, just read that Hirax is playing the Destruction show I was planning on going to. I don't think I'm ever going to see Municipal Waste.
bah. |
bummer indeed
oh well at least you still get to see Sadus and Destruction. CER-TAIN DEATH! |
I hate how I always mix up Satus and Sadus.
|
been listening to bonded by blood almost all day, smoked twice. hell yeah
|
So I just realised I'm in love with Pestilence - Consuming Impulse. Its so damn good.
|
Consuming Impulse is amazing
even though it's not Thrash lol |
Consuming Impulse is amazing
even though it's not Thrash lol
only pestilence i dont have, and yeah, i was gonna say it's not thrash. |
It's pretty damn close to thrash.
|
Its thrash enough. I guess that means the thrash album I've been loving the most recently is Dark Angel - Time Does Not Heal.
|
The new album better be better than the last one, or I'm going to kick Blitz in the nuts when I see him.
Yeh, the new one was deffinetly a step down from "Killbox 13", but it still had some cool tracks, like "A Pound of Flesh". |
It's pretty damn close to thrash.
It's thrashy, but I wouldn't even call it Death/Thrash. If we were talking about Malleus Maleficarum then it would be a different story.
only pestilence i dont have, and yeah, i was gonna say it's not thrash.
Man you need it, total classic. Easily in my Top 3 Death Metal album, and is a huge step above the rest of their other albums. |
It needs better production.
|
What does?
|
I think he is talking about Consuming Impulse, I have to disagree though, the production is fine. Whatever genre it is, its a kick ass album.
|
Ci.
|
A.R.G. are pretty sick...
NP: Adoration of the Kings |
A.R.G. are alright.
Josh you are silly. Consuming Impulse has fantastic production, especially for a Death Metal band in 1989. Sure it doesn't sound as good as Left Hand Path and Cause of Death but how many DM albums do? and they didn't have the luxury of having a quality studio which was pretty much exclusively for extreme Metal bands like the Floridia bands did. |
:jonorant:
I meant the mixing tbh. Quality is fine, but everything sounds way too dry. |
It is dry, but it's refreshing to hear an old-school Death Metal album (especially from Europe) that isn't drenched in reverb and/or delay. Even though I do like that.
and Van Drunen's vocals are so good he doesn't need effects to make him sound better :] |
His vocals needed work bad. I just hate the overall production/mixing. Blah.
|
His vocals are godly >:[
|
As godly as Dying Fetus vox
|
His vocals are godly >:[
123, his vocals are one of the things I really like about the album. They're brutal but not generic and carry a good amount of individualism. |
ITT: Josh has bad taste in vocalists
anyway I would love to rant about how you are wrong more but I have class :( |
Good old school death vocals = Entombed + Obituary. Not Pestilence :)
That said, Pestilence does indeed kick ***. |
