there is still more people on the old one, but not by a huge amount. i don't understand why soulseek bothered with the new version if they aren't going to tell everyone about it. i don't know about anyone else, but i didn't get a pop-up or anything to tell me about it when i started up the program, i had to find out by seeing a thread someone made on a/i and then going on the website and then downloading the new one.

People are probably starting to move to the new client/server because when I was on the other night, they shut down the server for a little while and put up a message telling everyone to move to the new client, and said it's going to keep occuring until everyone moves. What a dumb way to do it. Why don't they just post notices saying it will be down for good on a certain date?

I'm suprised people use anything other than google blog.

There is the hit or miss mess that is public torrents, then you have private torrent trackers which are a different matter entirely (great selection, quality control). p2p programs (esp. Soulseek which is great) are still there as a resource... I wouldn't recommend limewire or the like though. I hear good things about the ed2k network, WASTE, usenet etc., i've never dabbled in this side of things though.

Damn. I got the new server, and followed the instructions on how to switch, but I couldn't sign in. Kept saying my password was incorrect.
