Hell yeah.

French black metal is purely bitching.

Vlad Tepes reminds me of Darkthrone, but a bit more melodic in places.

RCA 06-23-2005 11:23 PM

Yeah, that's pretty accurate.

I know you've heard of Deathspell Omega...have you heard their latest release?

BoboTheRagingHobo 06-23-2005 11:24 PM

Yeah, I have, great album and band. But personally I like Infernal Battles more, cept the production half way through the album gets a bit funky.

Illmatic 06-23-2005 11:26 PM

You know what?

I don't get it. Shoot, this might be my last post in this thread and probably in R&M overall, because I catch too much crap for posting in here and only lurking through other threads.

I don't bash metal--I know I said some unkind things about it in the past but I've grown past that--and I've kept an open mind about it, I've been listening to some of it, I've been trying to get into it; I'm just not educated enough to post about it, and because a lot of the threads here are metal-related, that obviously means I can't post much in this forum. I hoped that the more I learned about and listened to it, the more I could post in other threads in this forum.

But no, I'm just some spamming moron, right?

Yeah, I had that problem with it as well. I've yet to hear Incipit Satan, but I ordered it yesterday and should be getting it by next month hopefully. :D

Maybe you've been listening to the wrong bands. You do like classic rock, right?

Did you even read what I wrote?

Brewer14 06-23-2005 11:31 PM

I cant get into metal either.

RCA 06-23-2005 11:31 PM
Did you even read what I wrote?
Yeah, I did; I think if you listen to bands that have styles close to what you like outside of metal (they're out there), you can make threads of your own about them and have discussions.

Bam, contribution.

I frankly don't care, I just felt like voicing that.

I don't frequent this thread much, so do what ever, but I just felt like saying that, which it is not just you in this thread so don't take it personally.

Just frankly annoying, but I have found that the death heads is more my type of community. So have fun in this thread, I just like to bitch about it some times since I am an old fart to this thread.

RCA - Very nice, I have yet to hear it as well, but the band is great so I am sure it will be good.

Have you heard Blut Aus Nord yet?

I think some people just get mad that you're in a rock and metal forum...but you don't like them that much. That is my perception though. I see you discuss rap a lot but don't think I've seen you discuss any rock or metal band. Not that it bothers me, but it seems you don't like most of the music in this forum. Feel free to correct me as I'm probably wrong.

RCA - Ultima Thulée, get that album by Blut Aus Nord...it's like Burzum, but more low ends in the mix of guitars and bass. Very "trippy" as well you could say.

He used to be in the classic rock thread quite often, and still pops in on occasion. So I have seen him discuss rock bands plenty.

Lunch 06-23-2005 11:35 PM

He used to be in the CR thread a lot of I figured he liked that, but now he just stops in every now and then.

Edit: Nevermind, JPJ and I just said the exact same thing.

Makes sense.

Someone uploaded an album by an avant-garde metal band, and it seemed interesting, but for some reason it won't play on my computer. No, that's not an excuse or a reason to not listen to it, I just can't get any song after the first song to play.

Yeah, that's what happens, and I think it looks even more so after the name change, but I am trying to change that.

Interesting, I'll be on the lookout for that one. :)
Oh wow. You know, you have to meet specific standards to post in certain forums. Otherwise, everyone just hates you.
You'd be surprised.

At least you would if you haven't seen that yet.

Jom 06-23-2005 11:45 PM

This issue here is that if you're part of a community, then BE A PART OF THE COMMUNITY.

If you don't have anything to say about a topic, then just read. Chances are, you'll learn something. I can't emphasize enough how much I've learned from Lucas, Peter, Jason, Jason, Alex, Jelle, Bartender, Det Nossip, the list goes on... from reading their contributions, threads, posts, etc.

If you're here just to post bullshit and lame insults and spam this to oblivion, then hijack one of the thousands of spam threads in The Pit and post there.

Well now I feel useless :p

Not really actually, I don't know more R&M than the average user here, but I've helped Bobo out with Indie and Pop-Punk stuff as I recall. I like to think I help broaden the horizons of the R&M kids heh :-\

I just don't see why we all care what everyone else likes. The community thread is for general discussion, not limited to music, though it's assumed we all have similar interests there.

I read through a lot of the threads posted here, especially the ones guys like DM do on one particular band, and I download the samples.

And I do believe you post far more insults here than I do. I don't get you at all, AH.

BoboTheRagingHobo 06-23-2005 11:49 PM
Oh, Vince. I was being serious. There are actually standards on this forum, and if you don't meet them, well, psh. Consider yourself banned.
Be part of the community?

Which means more then one thread or your fanboy threads?

Oh wow, I never knew those were so damn hard man. That is like slavery all over again, oh boy I can't take that.

Man...I'm part of the community...I think...but seriously, I don't post in half the threads I read because I have nothing useful to add. Community status ought not be based on knowledge, otherwise I'd not be part either.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-23-2005 11:56 PM

Jeeze. What's with all the hate guys? Can't we all be good friends, like in a community?

(sorry for the lame pun-esque deal)

Anyways, There has to be something that we all agree on..

Ah, Cemetarygates is wierd! Huzzah! Resolution.

EDIT:  I bet Jelle is gonna wake up and read this and think "Fuck, they took the thread name seriously!"
