Haha you guys are terrible

Korn's FAR from being a popular MTV metal band, and even so...since when did MTV pay any attention to metal?
Do they ahve Music Videos? yes, I dont like them lol

White 12-03-2005 12:35 AM

WEll ya, I got the 700 Posts I wanted to end the night off with so, Im off to bed guys. See ya tommorrow Bright and early (thats liek 2 pm for me haha)

Half Life 12-03-2005 12:38 AM

Are you saying you automatically don't like a band if they make a video? That's kind of ridiculous man. I hate people that think like that or think that a band is selling out if they make a video. It's practically required for almost any band nowadays to make a video, so don't hold that against them.

RichHunt 12-03-2005 12:41 AM

Wow. I didn't actually mean to post that three times..

Actually.. yes I did.. I'm comedy genius.

Brokensticks 12-03-2005 12:42 AM

It is becoming more and more common for bands to release a DVD and many are doing it, its another way to get our money :(
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=174644

None of it (except the obvious bottom 3) is me on drums, just incase cause some people actually though it was D:
Well I didn't listen to the midi files but I did listen to all of the drums tracks. Man they were awsome, great playing. Really enjoyable to listen to.

FockerTheLopper 12-03-2005 01:35 AM

Wow... Remember like a month or 2 ago I said I auditioned for a band and I didn't get in. Well the lead singer performed on TRL on MTV a couple of days ago and their awfully close to a record deal. The part that pisses me off is that I'm listening to the work of the drummer and I don't it being sloppy because its a jam but it rushes and the ideas aren't really that great exept for a couple and I could have done just as good and better. If I only had better chops I'd be in instead of him. The other thing, I'm waiting to hear him solo in the third song of the jam. He played in my schools jazz band this kid is really good but I think I did more then him. He had SOME nice patterns with the opening hat and thats just about it, his feel is too mechanical(it sounds like I'm hating, I kind of am but eh I'm disappointed). I'm listening to the mid-end(last song) and he has some nice accents but their right on the bass drum hits, I don't know dissapointing that chops > groove... Wow, I just listened to the solo chops yet musical, okay I'm not so disapointed, the other thing after the solo he played like the kit the way he should have from the beggining. Like a beast

Brokensticks 12-03-2005 01:40 AM

Well, that sucks man, I was hoping for you to get in.

rockindrummer 12-03-2005 01:51 AM

That sucks man. That is total bad luck, somthing else will come up though. Being in a band isn't about record deals and all that stuff, it is about having fun and making music, regardless of the level you play at.

Brokensticks 12-03-2005 01:56 AM

I agree, another opportunity is sure to come up also. But enjoy what you do don't try to be in it for money or anything.

Blizzy_206 12-03-2005 02:34 AM

Money is just a kick *** bonus. I havn't got into that yet.. Right now I just got into a new band and im trying to get them to practice seriously. They like the idea of a serious band, but they aren't commiting to it :(

Also about that audition.. Some bands aren't always looking for the best they can get. Also has to do with their impression of you and such. Cause finding people you can get along with and such all the time can be hard. My last band was a good example of musicians clashing. It was a war...and i won because drummers have more objects :P lhaha nah

styler 12-03-2005 03:33 AM

i personally join a band cuz i want the money that comes out of it, i drum for the fun of it, being in a band is my way of making what i love my career, to me its a bonus doing that with friends...i guess im just messed up

Drum Phil 12-03-2005 07:39 AM

Murd_666 12-03-2005 08:17 AM

Dude a 22" Crash, Thats tank...20" Stages are Loud but AWSOME!

Futuro 12-03-2005 08:22 AM

I have been using my 20 inch full ride as a crash more than a ride <SHRUG>

Drum Phil 12-03-2005 08:34 AM

Ive been tryin to crash on a heavy 22" ride and its not happening :upset: 22" Crash ahoy

Futuro 12-03-2005 09:43 AM

Im getting my second tatto soon. I want something on my left forearm. Not sure yet, I am a fan of abstract art and triip photography, but it is fairly hard to find something that would look good on a forearm.

No, I just dont like bands who sell out, I mean it just shows that they just want to be known, and its not about the music

Futuro 12-03-2005 10:36 AM
It is becoming more and more common for bands to release a DVD and many are doing it, its another way to get our money
Yeah like tool

Tool finally has there DVD coming out of the Schism and Parobola videos. There is also special footage, But I doubt I will get it. Why? Because those videos are so easily accesible, Now if they were to release a live DVD, I would have to snatch that thing up in a heart beat.

Japan3gro 12-03-2005 10:40 AM

^^ Like Lamb of God - Killadelphia. Live dvd's are the best.

boss 12-03-2005 11:43 AM

i have that 20" AAX Stage crash
BEAST that thing is

styler 12-03-2005 03:31 PM

if its all about the music why dont they just stay in there garages and play?

selling out is just another way of saying "hey, this band got popular, other people like them now too, **** i dont like them anymore, screw this."

dont make a song, technically that would be selling out, as soon as someone hears you music that is selling out...an actual band that sold out would be kiss, there the only real band thats ever sold out that i can think of.

lol your crazy drum phil, i can understand the double pedal cowbell, and i can understand the awkward setup...but damn man, a 22" crash...thats just crossin the line..:P

Win A Rabbit 12-03-2005 04:39 PM

i can't stand the whole "sellout" argument. 95% of the time, it's a 14 year old kid who listens to poppy music, and loves the cd until the band makes a video. at this point, the kid hates the band, only because now he knows that this band is being listened to by more than himself. it's always the kid that thinks his favorite band, which usually happens to be on a worldwide tour, is "underground". the kid thinks that the band owes him something, for one reason or another. he thinks the band must consult him with every decision they make.

once someone touring the world (or atleast a continent or two) in a small bus is able to move up to a bigger bus, maybe with showers and a bathroom, and are able to eat every day, they've automatically sold out. because we all know, the point of spending money to record your cd, spending money on advertising, going on tour for months on end, the whole point of all of that is to repeat the same record 50 times over and to never accept any money once you've broken even.

one of my friends even argued that bands that play concerts in large arenas sell out because they "don't need all the money, but they take it anyways". then he started rambling on about he'd rather play for 10 people who really really liked his band instead of 10,000 that kind of liked it. he then continued to say that he determined a band selling out once their t-shirts cost alot.

ignorance. aaaah.

well anyways, i've burned 5 cd's already today, and i'm about to burn a few more.

and i'm finally starting to get good work hours. this week i'm working sunday tuesday thursday, then next week it'll be sunday and 3 weekdays. can't wait for the money to roll on in.

mysticalyeti 12-03-2005 04:40 PM

Damn them for making money doing what they love! Bastards!

Seafroggys 12-03-2005 05:23 PM

god damn I wish I can make money from what I love

Janeway 12-03-2005 05:24 PM

I took a nap, and woke up with my pillow stuffed between my legs slightly moist.
I can't recall having any dream, and I'm a little worried I was molested and put on tape....
