I rarely have high expectation for any old-school bands anymore, so I wasn't suprised.
|
I'm going to see Onslaught on the 30th. If you havn't heard of them, they're practically Britain's only thrash band. They last put an album out in about 1989 and I think they might have a new one next year, which I hope will be back to the standard that 'The Force' and 'In Search of Sanity' set.
Other news: I'm getting an Artillery - Fear of Tomorrow hoodie and a Metal Church and Coroner t-shirt. |
Britain had plently of Thrash bands.
I'm not a huge fan of Onslaught. It's just total Venom worship, really. I've got Power From Hell, but if I wanted to listen to Black Metal, then I would put Black Fucking Metal on. NP: Possessed - Death Metal |
I don't really like Power From Hell that much. The vocals annoy me, but only really because the vocals on The Force are so good.
NP: Metal Church - Merciless Onslaught |
The new Sadus is worthless.
|
The new Sadus songs come off much better live, but I'd agree the new album blows. They rule live though. Sadus Attack is godly live.
|
Punishment For Decadence is my favourite but Coroner's first three are all fantastic, really.
Finally we agree on something Jon :p I'd love to see Sadus, as long as they stuck to the old classics like Sadus Attack and Certain Death. |
They still play both of those live. Definatley worth seeing.
My thrash band just broke up. Stupid drummers. |
Yeah I'd definately go if they came to the UK.
Anyone know when Gigantour is coming over to Europe? |
Finally we agree on something Jon
hahahaha I definitely see Sadus if they came.
My thrash band just broke up. Stupid drummers.
*insert drummer joke here* |
Yeah I'd definately go if they came to the UK.
hahahaha
I definitely see Sadus if they came. *insert drummer joke here*
Also Sadus is supposed to be touring with Obituaray, Cathedral and Blind Gaurdian, I hope that comes to San Diego Also, I thought you were Dargon for a quick moment there. |
Yeah, that avatar is awesome :D
|
I'm seeing Municipal Waste and Gwar this wednesday
|
Lucky! I'm seeing Destruction with Sadus and Municipal Waste, but that's in January
|
So yeah, even though I don't really like thrash anymore, I still think Municipal Waste is awesome. Meh, at least Waste Em All is great.
|
Waste Em All slays.
Reunited British thrashers SABBAT will release remastered versions of their first two albums — "History of a Time to Come" (1988) and "Dreamweaver" (1989) — sometime next year via Sanctuary. "We've made a small bit of progress on this one," stated guitarist Andy Sneap. "I've been speaking to Sanctuary about reissues, and it looks as though we are doing remastered versions of 'History' and 'Dreamweaver', with a few bonus bits if possible. They (Sanctuary) have the multi-tracks to the first album and the live show in Berlin from the video, so again, possiblities there, and the BBC also has the session we did digitally archived."
Yeah, those albums could really do with a good remastering too.

How gay. |
I haven't listened to Sabbat in a while...
has anyone heard the Japanese Sabbat? Are they worth checking out? Also.. I've noticed that 666wic666 is gone.... dammit. |
666wic probably got shut down by their hosts, that's what happened last time anyway. I don't care that much anyway, I have found myself using that site less and less lately, and the community there are a bunch of Europeans who could barely type proper English and had broken caps lock keys. I would search if it were still up, but one thread there went:
"ARE THERE ANYONE WHO REGRETS THE OLD DEATH METAL SCENE FROMT HE 1989 TO 1993?? ANYONE INTRESTED OLD SCHOOL DEATH SHITS????" I mean this dude had great taste in Death Metal but he typed like a fucking retard. I am not exaggerating, either. I've got something by the Japanese Sabbat but to be honest I've never really listened to it. I remember it being Black/Thash style stuff. edit: actually nevermind that, I was thinking of Abigail from Japan, not Sabbat. I haven't heard anything by the Japanese Sabbat. |
I've used it a few times... but now that DC++ won't work on my computer anymore, I was going to start using it more often probably.
Hmm. I guess I'll just try and soulseek the Japanese Sabbat. |
"ANYONE INTRESTED OLD SCHOOL DEATH SHITS????"
Hahahahaha |

Get the first 5 or so EPs. Great stuff! Sabbat is pretty much a can do no wrong band NP: Possessed - Evil Warriors |
So yeah, even though I don't really like thrash anymore, I still think Municipal Waste is awesome. Meh, at least Waste Em All is great.
I really hurt my neck during their set, even though I felt dumb being the only one singing along and headbanging :-\ GWAR was amazing though. Not a fan of their music, but something about being sprayed with blood and semen was the most rewarding thing I have ever experienced :p |
Haha I'm going to the same tour.
I saw GWAR before, so much fun. |
I've really wanted to see Gwar. Still haven't got to yet
