I don't know, lunch brought it up. He's always just looking for a way to start an arguement.

BludgeonySteve 01-21-2005 04:07 PM
Neil Peart in my view is really overrated..
.
Well no ****. Many view him as the best rock drummer ever.

Badmoon 01-21-2005 04:12 PM
Why's how good Jack Bruce is relevant to any of this? Nobody said that Geddy was the best bass player or singer.
Hey! Jack Bruce is always relevant!

Woodstock 01-21-2005 04:14 PM

Here's a list of 60's bands who reached their peak(in my opinion) between 1965 and 1975:

The Beatles
The Kinks
Jimi Hendrix
Neil Young
The Doors
CCR
Frank Zappa
Allman Brothers
The Who
Pink Floyd
Black Sabbath
CSN
The Rolling Stones
Bob Dylan
Steve Miller Band
Santana
Cream
Jeff Beck
James Gang
Jethro Tull
King Crimson
Blind Faith
Booker T. & The MG's
Quicksilver Messenger Service
The Stooges
The Byrds
Buffalo Springfield
Led Zeppelin
ELP

jpj 01-21-2005 04:14 PM

I'd have to agree with you on those.

BludgeonySteve 01-21-2005 04:19 PM

Agreed exept for Neil Young. he's been more or less consistent.

lunch998 01-21-2005 04:24 PM
Bruce is better. Much better.
Yes, thankyou.

By the way I just repped you, but I accidently hit enter in the middle of the message so I'm not sure if my name was on it or not.

lunch998 01-21-2005 04:26 PM
Hey! Jack Bruce is always relevant!
Yea he is. It's relevant because many people claim that Geddy Lee is the best bassist/singer, so I said Jack Bruce was.

Woodstock 01-21-2005 04:27 PM

Yes, it's definetly Jack Bruce. No doubt.

BludgeonySteve 01-21-2005 04:28 PM

It was never about who's the best. Nobody mentioned that geddy was the best.

This is turning spammy0zkrzy

You did the same thing to me when I brought up the Who awhile ago, you just said that the Beatles were better when no one was trying to compare them.

jpj 01-21-2005 04:31 PM

I don't remember that, but I don't remember a lot of things.

Badmoon 01-21-2005 04:31 PM
This is turning spammy0zkrzy
How? We're on topic.

Country Rock is cool.

BludgeonySteve 01-21-2005 04:32 PM

I said that they were the better british invasion band.

Hmm, that's doesn't make it much better.

Fine! :(

BludgeonySteve 01-21-2005 04:32 PM
Country Rock is cool.
Indeed it is. Though not plain country. *shudders*

Steve Earle is the country rock god.

Badmoon 01-21-2005 04:33 PM

jpj 01-21-2005 04:34 PM

lunch998 01-21-2005 04:35 PM
JPJ-Zooma and Primus-Sailing the Seas of Cheese, if you like weird music.
Eh, not interested.

Badmoon 01-21-2005 04:36 PM

Phil Lesh & Friends - There and Back Again

Here's my wanted list, I doubt you'd be interested in most of it.

EDIT: LOOK AT MY POST COUNT!!!!

jpj 01-21-2005 04:36 PM
Eh, not interested.
What are you interested in? Your request was far too general.

lunch998 01-21-2005 04:38 PM

I'm kind of into Jam Band stuff a little bit, and since it's from Amazon it should be semi-rare.

I'm ordering CCR - Willy and the Poor Boys and ABB - Beginnings.

Badmoon: All 1's. That is neat. Now never post again.

jpj 01-21-2005 04:41 PM

Well, then it sounds like Badmoon's your guy.

Woodstock 01-21-2005 04:41 PM

JPJ: I just got Birds Of Fire to work again.

lunch998 01-21-2005 04:43 PM
Well, then it sounds like Badmoon's your guy.
Yea but he'll give me an ultra complex analysis of bands I've never heard of and then I will be confused.

Which Phish Cd should I get first?

jpj 01-21-2005 04:48 PM

Hoist for Phish.

Woodstock 01-21-2005 04:50 PM

Good orders Lunch, my ordered CD's still haven't arrived!!

jpj 01-21-2005 04:50 PM
JPJ: I just got Birds Of Fire to work again.
Sorry I can't send it to you, I'm on my way out the door as I'm typing this.

lunch998 01-21-2005 04:51 PM

I might get Phil Lesh and friends, I listened to most of the samples and was impressed.

Woodstock 01-21-2005 04:51 PM
Sorry I can't send it to you, I'm on my way out the door as I'm typing this.
I was going to send you the missing tracks. ???

BludgeonySteve 01-21-2005 04:56 PM

I second getting Hoist.

/contributed, kind of.

BludgeonySteve 01-21-2005 04:58 PM
Why do you want a Yngwie Malmsteen CD?

:
Because he's a shredz0rz at heart. He's also got some Steve Vai and Jason Becker on there too.

lunch998 01-21-2005 05:00 PM

Now I might get Jazz Is Dead - Laughing Water.

IAJP 01-21-2005 05:00 PM

Does anyone like Deep Purple in here?

BludgeonySteve 01-21-2005 05:01 PM

They're a good band. I'm sure we all have the standard Machine Head.

Badmoon 01-21-2005 05:01 PM
Now I might get Jazz Is Dead - Laughing Water.
Do you have Wake of the Flood?

lunch998 01-21-2005 05:04 PM
Do you have Wake of the Flood?
No.

IAJP 01-21-2005 05:04 PM
They're a good band. I'm sure we all have the standard Machine Head.
Yeah I have Machine Head, Made In Japan and a greatest hits, which is just "30:the very best of deep purple"

At the moment they're one of my favourite bands.
I didn't like them as much when Ian Gillian went, does anyone agree?

Badmoon 01-21-2005 05:08 PM
No.
Well, then I should give it to you. Because Laughing Water is a recreation of that album.

Or you could of course buy Jazz is Dead's Blue Light Rain. Which covers Blues for Allah. Or you could get Jazz is Dead's live Great Sky River. Which does a bunch of stuff.

But I'd still recommend Laughing Water :).

thickasabrick 01-21-2005 05:10 PM

i dont mind deep purple. i like some of their songs a lot, a lot of their songs mediocrely, and a few of their songs little.

hard poll! too many choices. i voted for the Doors, although it was basically a coin toss between like five bands.

edit- man there were a lot of errors in this post. and congrats on the cool post count Badmoon, although i'm a little late.
