Girlfriend, you know...

But I'm back for tonight, until she comes.

And I got a few new things, like the first Led Zeppelin album, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon," and Cream's "Live Cream Vol. 2" And the Led Zeppelin DVD.

i wish my girlfriend still talked to me. she left town for the weekend for a wrestling tournament and didn't bother telling me.

nice albums you got there. what do you think of the DVD?

slowhand 12-04-2004 05:11 PM

I've been gone for a while... what's up with the stars below names? They're kinda freaking me out.

I think the DVD is great. Zepp is better live act than an album act.

PS: if you link the words "an" and "album" you can get the word "anal."

PSS: Yea, I'm kinda bored.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-04-2004 05:11 PM

IMO I think George had the best solo career (music wise)

thickasabrick 12-04-2004 05:14 PM

i notice on that tab site, that Grateful Dead did a lot of cover songs, i noticed a lot of Dylan and even a few Beatles. do their covers have something different to offer than the original, like did they make them more bluegrassy or however you would explain the Grateful Dead sound?

slowhand 12-04-2004 05:14 PM
IMO I think George had the best solo career (music wise)
Without a doubt. George Harrison was the best solo Beatle. I have the Lennon Legends CD, and I still preffer to listen to George's "All Things Must Pass" album.

The man's my idol.

BludgeonySteve 12-04-2004 05:16 PM

Brainwashed is really good (hehe, that's the only George Harrison albu mthat I have :().

Woodstock 12-04-2004 05:16 PM
Have it. Love it.

Best part, Harrison's and Clapton's guitar solo at the end of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
Where did you find it? I thought it was a bootleg.

the stars are for having a lot of Rep Points...its very pointless don't bother with it.

ya i have the Zep dvd, i think its amazing. whats your favourite song from it?

and yes....an album cover could be mis-interpreted to read anal bum cover. that was on SNL one time. pretty funny. i was watching that one a few days ago.

It's hard. I love the "Immigrant Song" they have live, the thing I don't like about it its that it's not the actual footage of that song. And I love to watch the special feature where they performed at Denmark Radio. The version of "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You" it's awesome, since Page uses his Tele to play the acoustic part.

thickasabrick 12-04-2004 05:22 PM

i have two george harrison records, one seems to be untitled, and the other is called Living in the Material World. i haven't listened to either yet. anyone else have these albums?

gmoneyguy 12-04-2004 05:23 PM

I love Misty Mountain Hop on the DVD.

slowhand 12-04-2004 05:25 PM
Agreed :thumb: Im reading his bio. and doing a report on him.
His bio? As in "I, Me, Mine" or as in an internet bio?

I have a Rolling Stone-special-made-book for George Harrison they made after his death. It's very cool, and you get to know more of his point-of-view from the Beatles' period and what happened with his relationship with the other Beatles after they went they're separate ways, and the Concert for Bangladesh, and... Well, everything.

ya for immigrant song it just seems to be a bunch of photos stuck together. my favourites might have to be Dazed and Confused, Since I've Been Loving You, and umm whats it called...How Many More Times. i tried to get my friend to watch Dazed and Confused, but he just didn't understand. every three minutes he asked why they are still playing the same song.

Yes they are. And if you mention them in my thread again, umm, i'll, umm do stuff to you. And it will hurt!

It must be nice to have too many albums and not enough time to listen to them. It's completely the opposite for me.

An untitled one? That's weird...

And Living in the Material World is good... but I don't have it... =(

I'd like to see his point of view from the whole thing. it seems to me like he was the quiet observant one.

edit- i will recheck the "untitled" harrison album, maybe i just missed the name somewhere.

thickasabrick 12-04-2004 05:30 PM

nope no title...it is from '79 and has a big picture of his face on the front. maybe it just has a nickname like the untitled zep album.

edit- the internet tells me its just called George Harrison.

slowhand 12-04-2004 05:30 PM

He was very misunderstood, and outshadowed by Lennon & McCartney. Of course, he was the first Beatle to have a no. 1 hit after they broke up, and while Lennon's and McCartney's first solo works were having bad reviews, Harrison was the talk of the music business. "All Things Must Pass" was the first 3 LP set in rock history.

He was the one who inspired me to take up a guitar instead of a bass.

In '79, Harrison released a self-titled album.

Is "Here Comes the Moon" in that album?

i have a few solo albums from all the beatles. i only have one Ringo album (i have doubles of it for some reason) i think its called Roses or something to do with roses. how good would Ringo's solo work be? he didn't do a lot of writing in the beatles did he?

i will check..

ya it is. is it good?

slowhand 12-04-2004 05:37 PM

He didn't even did a lot of writting in his solo career. The other Beatles, specially Harrison, worked with him on his solo projects, and even wrote a few songs for him.

Ringo's first solo album, "Sentimental Journey" was mostly covers of old songs.

thickasabrick 12-04-2004 05:38 PM

did Ringo sing on his solo albums? or bring in other singers?

slowhand 12-04-2004 05:39 PM

He sang the songs... and still does.

He has a very recognizible voice, that's the only good thing about it. You can tell him apart easily.
