i hate when you order something online. then they send you an email two days later telling you it's out of stock, and they're in contact with their suppliers.
raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage.
What'd you order? |
That's weak man. That's poor keeping track of stock on their behalf, they should have something better working. How hard is it to have automated systems for that? I bet not very.

A lot of software used for purchasing doesn't integrate on-hand stock. Plus, there's quite often a discrepancy between what the manufacturer says they sent you, and what they actually did. There's a lot that goes into it, but I agree that it should be better tracked. |
Ordered a copy of the Ampeg SVX plugin cuz it was cheap and looks cool.
Last time I ordered from this place I bought a pair of monitors, and they sent me two sets by accident and never chased it up, so I guess it's karma :p |
Still weak though.
|
If it's a plug-in can't you just buy it to download?
|
Hey guys,
I just started to pick my bass up again after a few years too many of not playing. I used to post in here infrequently and lurked the pit a lot. Saying hello. Hello |
No, I thought it might be an instant download thing too like when I bought the Slate drum samples. Turns out it's boxed and everything :/ I don't mind that too much, and I can live without it. Starting to think maybe a VT Bass pedal would be as useful, if not moreso though? Don't know.
And hi telemore. I don't remember you in the slightest, but I'm sure the feeling's mutual :) |
58.75 hours of work last week, and I'm looking at more overtime this week too. Hooray credit card/car payments!
|
Yeah lol. No worries.
I seem to be forgettable... |

I dunno, I've been here like 7 years (god help me) and I don't think I gots me none!
|
Joindate says 8. Nice.
:( |
I remember you, Telemore. Your avatar used to be a hammer.
|
I remember avatars more than names. I might remember if I saw it :p
|
Yeah, :D it was a hammer I'd scanned from a GS!YBE album artwork..

The place I went to for it was on offer and cheap, and it was physical only :/
I might phone them up to cancel the order and look somewhere else for a reasonably priced download if they take the piss with it. |
Well IK Multimedia are doing 15% off plus buy one get one free. Plus if 5000 people participate you get a 2nd free plug in!
I got Miroslav Phillharmonik and Ampeg SVX. To be honest, I'm slightly disappointed so far with the Ampeg plug. It doesn't naturally overdrive or anything, and the overdrive pedal in it sounds like shit. Either I'm doing something wrong or the modelling is terrible. I'd still buy it though, because it still is better than a DI on most stuff. Plus you can get creative with it. |
I'm kind of in two minds with it to be honest. Like... Would just buying a VT bass and recording through that give better results? I've got cab convolutions and all the effects I could ever need I guess. But it does kind of just do everything in one self contained (CPU hungry) package, which is hella convenient. I tried out a couple of things like the SVT4 head through the Amplitube custom shop, and it sounded... okay. But I've heard rave reviews about this stuff, and I'm guessing I need more tweaking time.
Also, I don't know if its just me, but Amplitube seems to give me a weird kind of very low unwanted distortion too :/ |
From what I can see too, the SVT4 is the only one worth using for drive. And some of that you have to get in weird ways. I mean it works like a real SVT in that if you just put the entire graphic up full, but keep the gain slider down, it will push the power section to drive more. I don't want to have to use other VSTs to get it to drive more and stuff though :/ Could always try shoving a tubescreamer in front and see what happens?
Just looked up the IK deal, and it's actually pretty good. Totally need to cancel my order and go down that route, haha. Don't have a clue which free plug I'd go for though :/ Cut down version of T-Racks for $15 too... Worth it? |
I wanna start building my own pedals... gotta convince the fiance to let me buy a soldering iron and a starter kit to get into it....
|
been to the BYOC fourms? good place to start!
since playing with compressors in reaper more, i really want one for my live rig. and i want this one. and it's bargaintastic on ebay, but i can't afford it right now. it won't be there long i'm pretty sure. argh! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FOCUSRITE-COMPOUNDER-DUAL-CHANNEL-COMPRESSSOR-GATE-/270772259087?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Outboards_Effects_MJ&hash=item3f0b48c90f |

And if I was use I'd get maybe Amplitube Metal? I dunno, I only got Miroslav because I don't have a decent orchestral Virtual Instrument. |
I just use the ReaEQ in Reaper atm for pretty much everything. I'd like to have a proper multiband jobby though. The Miroslav looks cool, and it's the one that catches my eye. But I can't see me ever using it :p
|
Haha yeah, it's got pretty got pretty good sounds to it, and you can use your mod wheel to do real time performances and stuff. Pretty cool!
|
It's the kind of thing that's probably neat to have around just incase I guess. I'd love a good piano VST. Pianissimo is nice, but for what it costs, it feels really limited.

I think Miroslav does Piano sounds but it'll probably pale in comparison to a dedicated one. |
You think it does? Didn't you just buy it? Haha
|
Yeah, I was lurking all over BYOC yesterday. Good stuff and very interesting information.
