Some times the vocals on St. Anger seemed to kind of...crack? That was kinda off-setting. Otherwise I thought they were rather good.

Yes, i agree with you there, although the voclas were good, the Lyrics were quite the opposite, although I have yet to write better myself, i know they are capeable of much more...
I think Jaymez vocals were like that because he had been away in rehab so long.... Hes probably not had the general voice excersizes he normally gets.

yea, the drumming could have been a lot better, except your right, the beats were great

i actually liked the guitar. it was really crunchy and it sounded awesome. and you're right again, the riffs were among some of the greatest i have ever heard

I liked the riffs, but not the guitar tone, it gave me a headache.

U loved the riffs in St Anger. The only problem i had was with the ring on the snare drum, it was quiet annoying.

Ive been over St Anger so im not gonna explain it in depth, basically my favorites are Frantic, Ditry Window and St Anger

Not one of there best, but sweet album none the less.

Yeah thats a good one. Its great to learn what inspired them to write it, about the whole radio station and how they have to promote so when they let out a new album they will play it and stuff.

That is my favorite song as well off of st. anger I like the riff that starts at 3:45 :thumb:

On another note, the spider riff in Puppets is owning me. I play bass, but it's the same for the guitars. It's owning me on bass as well as a friend on guitar. I'm trying to find a way to come up with a somewhat similar sound but make it easier.

If you want to make the spider riff easier on bass, but sound exactly the same (I osmetimes do it if I'm feeling lazy...), play the Bb as another open E.

Did you ever notice that fuel on SnM is extremely fast compared to the original recording.

They used to play Bells a lot faster too. That was awesome, wicked cool when it was faster.

They play Whiplash a lot faster too, and they play The Thing That Should Not Be in C#. At least on live sh!t.

yea i'm waiting to vote. i really want hetfield to make it thru, but i'm deciding between Slash, Hetfield, and Lifeson. Hetfield really is an incredible riff writer, but it's too bad most people here vote for the astonishing soloist rather than the best overall player (which is why i'm stuck between those three) it wouldn't matter so much if Hetfield didn't go another round, but i think he deserves it.

it should be hetfield/hammett combo, because the stuff they put together is absolutely amazing. it should be like that for the young bros. too
