We were thinking of changing it to the classic rock/jam rock community and discussion thread or something to that extent
Way too long. Besides, there already is a Jam Band thread.
|
i agree, it use to be a lot smaller of a genre like in the 80's but now anything from elvis to guns n roses is classic rock.
I think it starts w/ people like buddy holly and ends with the rush/late pink floyd era. GNR is too recent |
Everyone's typing too fast for me and my crappy computer to catch up.
So I'm out. Before I go... Some people at my school were protesting about the war in iraq, called themselves the "liberal youth group of america" and they didn't play any bob dylan. They are shameful hippies. |

Err, badmoon explained it nicely. He will when he sees this. |
I think it starts w/ people like buddy holly and ends with the rush/late pink floyd era. GNR is too recent

They are shameful hippies.

lately ive been getting really into Boston and the only cd of theres that i have is there self titled one, does any one know of another good cd by Boston
Another doesn't really exist, sorry. Their self titled really is their best album. |
lately ive been getting really into Boston and the only cd of theres that i have is there self titled one, does any one know of another good cd by Boston
Their Self Titled album is their only really good one. (or atleast from what i've heard). edit: screw you, Woodstock. |
Don't Look Back is good by Boston
|
Their Self Titled album is their only really good one. (or atleast from what i've heard).
edit: screw you, Woodstock.
Hey! Don't get mad. I think it's funny we thought the same thing about Boston. |
Boston had potential and then they blew it.
|
The Byrds - 5D (Fifth Dimension) is a good song. Listening to it now.
I need more songs like this from the Byrds, all I've really heard was their most popular hits. |
Well, I know most of the regulars in the Jam Band thread. None of us post in there often, plus it is in a different forum. I am almost 100% sure that everyone who commonly posted in there, posted in here several times. Whenever the subject comes up, they're usually here anyway.
Kingadamx ShineonYouCrazyDiamond VoodooChild Keep on Phishin' etc It's good to have them in here. |
Seeing Woodstock's avatar can anyone recommend me good Joe Walsh albums. The only stuff that I really know by him is his stuff with The EAgles
|
do you guys think Eat A Peach was the Brother's best album?
|

Yer Album, Thirds, James Gang Rides Again. Those are the only three you'll need. |
Yes.
edit: to freddie |
do you guys think Eat A Peach was the Brother's best album?
Yes, closely followed by Live At The Fillmore. |
do you guys think Eat A Peach was the Brother's best album?
I think Live at the Fillmore>Eat A Peach. |
I think Live at the Fillmore>Eat A Peach.
i like the bluesy sound of stuff like Stormy Monday on Fillmore but Mountain Jam just kicks ***. |

|
i like the bluesy sound of stuff like Stormy Monday on Fillmore but Mountain Jam just kicks ***.
Or you can cheat like me and get the Deluxe version of Live at the Fillmore, which is 2 discs and has Mountain Jam. |

That's the version I have. |
Eat a Peach owns Fillmore East. And it didn't make Rollingstone's list
Stand Back and Blue Sky > all |
Eat a Peach owns Fillmore East. And it didn't make Rollingstone's list
Stand Back and Blue Sky > all
But, Blue Sky > Stand Back. |
Statesburo Blues> All.
|
Statesburo Blues> All.
In Memory of Elizabeth Reed > Statesboro Blues *Fillmore East-wise that is |
Right after you get passed the first two slides by Allman, "Stateboro Blues" loses a lot of quality :p
|
Fine, Trouble No More or Don't Keep Me Wonderin'>All*
*Excludes songs better than them. |
The Band, CSNY, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Neil Young>All.
|
Eat a Peach was the Allmans' most listenable, most varied record ever. I love it. I think it's better than Fillmore East.
|
The Band, CSNY, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Neil Young>All.
:thumb:. Most people who introduce themselves here mention ac/dc, led zeppelin, and maybe another hard rock band and that's it. You have an awesome taste in music |
Eat a Peach was the Allmans' most listenable, most varied record ever. I love it. I think it's better than Fillmore East.
Same here. It has acoustic ballads like Melissa and hard rock jams like Blue Sky. Perfect record. |
I wouldn't call Blue Sky "hard rock", but that's just me.
Plus, it also has Little Martha and Ain't Wastin' Time No More. |
Hard is subjective, but it's still one of my favorites off the album.
|
Same here. Then again, I love all the songs on it.
|
Yer Album, Thirds, James Gang Rides Again. Those are the only three you'll need.
did you see him on the crossroads festival? **** he looked whacked out. oh and i really like one way out. that greatest album poll was the hardest yet. and i cant believe a children of bodom album is winning ANYTHING. |
