Wow...a mini influx of newbies (welcome, by the way...unless you hate Maiden, and may the Demon rape you in your bed at night).

Good to see they're getting a new audience.

I just noticed in my things to look forward to in 2005 I put:

1. DotR DVD
2. New Maiden album
3. Robbie Williams tour!!!

I'm going mad.

Man, I'm hooked on these guys again.

I've bought Powerslave, A Real LIVE dead one, Brave New World, Dance Of Death, and Eddy the Great.

Dance of Death is best. Paschendale is awesome.
Nah, that metal hammer special was a load of crap
There were bits in there I just didn't understand. It said Killers was an essential metal album and that SSOASS was the closest Iron Maiden came to maiking a real stinker, yet in the reviews they gave both albums 7/10...what's that about?

Maybe when they said SSOASS was the closest to a stinker they meant it could have easily turned out a rubbish pop-metal album (which it could, given the synths, etc...) but that it didn't, and was simply a good album. Their best, IMO.

NP: Purgatory

I think it's my favorite song on Killers. So fast-paced and full of great guitar parts, basslines, and some of Paul's best singing.

Yeah so I'm still a bit upset with Iron Maiden's choice of using synthetizers in "Seventh son of a seventh son" But I think I'm growing out of it. It takes a while. A grower album, I'd say.

I still prefer straight-edge Maiden.

Indeed purgatory is a great song , but i think my favorite off of killers would have to be drifters or murder in the rue mourge.

Infact killers would have to be my favorite maiden album, everything on it is killer. No fillers whatsoever IMO. I actually wish they would have kept paul for another album or two. :(
