Wow the potential line up for the European Gigantour looks great! In your face anyone that isn't in Europe :p
:h5:
Europe lineup > NA lineup > Aus lineup
Agreed.

If they come anywhere near me, I'll make sure to be there.

Terrorzone 10-11-2006 08:05 PM

I'm so excited. I just found out Municipal Waste is coming to my town this Saturday. Even though I have to endure The Red Chord and Gwar, it will be worth it.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-11-2006 08:32 PM

Gwar are supposed to be awesome live.

Iron Man 10-11-2006 08:34 PM

I'm not sure about the music...but they have that notorious live show. I'll have to ask my friend about it, he's seen them live twice.

Bazarov 10-11-2006 08:45 PM

GWAR's live show is awesome, as is their music. They finally added a San Diego date, so I'll be seeing Municipal Waste for the second time and GWAR for the third... yeah, I'm badass.

FatalEnergy 10-11-2006 11:36 PM

GWAR is touring? I missed them last time they were around, but I really want to see them. They're killer.

NP: Desaster - Teutonic Steel

pate 10-11-2006 11:46 PM

Gwar's music is better than their stage show IMO.

FatalEnergy 10-11-2006 11:55 PM

The only shows I'm looking forward to is that Destruction show next year and Primus in December. Not much is coming around here it seems.

Nepenthe 10-11-2006 11:56 PM

You're never on anymore.

Um, Bonded By Blood for life.

*bangs head against the stage*
Um, Bonded By Blood for life.
have I ever mentioned I love you?

Nepenthe 10-12-2006 12:16 AM

Quite possibly, not on any occasions that I vividly remember though.

Except that one night...

Apocalyptic Raids 10-12-2006 12:18 AM

oh, that night.

@_@

pate 10-12-2006 12:19 AM

I was there too. :p

Nepenthe 10-12-2006 12:22 AM

Yeah, that one.

pate 10-12-2006 12:25 AM

'Twas a good time for all.

Nepenthe 10-12-2006 12:29 AM

Mostly you though, tiger.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-12-2006 12:33 AM

rawr

anyway, I haven't checked out much new Thrash lately.

Have been downloading unholy amounts of old-school Death Metal demos though.

Nepenthe 10-12-2006 12:35 AM

It's kind of hard to find new thrash for me lately. And it sucks, because that always causes me to lose interest in the genre, and then I finally go back and remember how good all the old stuff is.

pate 10-12-2006 12:35 AM

The best chance new thrash grab I've made was Horrorscope. They're not bad.

There are many bands from back in the day that I haven't checked out yet. Problem is, that much of the old-school stuff I've got a hold of lately has sucked. I find with old-school Death Metal you can download something from a band who only had a couple of demos and an EP (not even that) and you can still get some really good quality stuff, on the other hand the Thrash scene was wayyy too over-crowded by '88-'89 or so.

But then I listen to Bonded By Blood and realise just why life is worth living.

Also, I have zero interest in these retro Thrash bands anymore.

Nepenthe 10-12-2006 12:42 AM

Yeah that's what I mean, most obscure thrash bands are obscure for a reason, and I don't think I've ever heard a good thrash band formed after the mid 90s.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-12-2006 12:44 AM

Yeah, that's true. It's almost the opposite with the Scandanavian DM scene. Obviously bands like Dismember, Demigod etc are well known for a reason too, but then you get Abhorrence for example, who only did a demo and an EP, and are absolutly fantastic.

Riva 10-12-2006 12:45 AM

At least we got some good thrash albums post '95.

Nepenthe 10-12-2006 12:46 AM

The Finnish scene ruled them all.

It sucks, but Shah is still the last good thrash band I've found, and that was two or so months ago.

True, Jason.

I think I prefer the Swedish scene, but not by much.

Any recomendations? All I have are the Chris Barnes' demos and Necrovore.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-12-2006 01:18 AM

The Nihilist demos are awesome, as is Demigod's Unholy Domain. There's always the Death/Mantas demos too.

Yeah, I got a truck, and somewhat of a life. Busy times these are.

I'm always sure to check in though :)

I haven't found any new thrash bands lately. I discovered DeathChain a month or so ago, but after a few listens the singer really started to piss me off. Cool riffs for the most part though.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-12-2006 01:26 AM

Deathchain are alright, pretty solid stuff.
