*little girls voice*

:upset: im scared....how bad will it get?
Look at Iai's comments for an indication. The alt/indie elitists will worm their way over to moan at some point too. Its funny though, with all his tool bitching, just take a look at the first few pages of this thread.

Oh, and if you havent voted yet people, vote for Black mages or Deftones, they'll need it more than Tool
Unless im wrong, Mogwai are gone too.

Ahhhh, THEY were the ones! I knew 28 Days Later had a post rock soundtrack, I have In the House, In a Hearbeat on my comp, but I didnt know who did it.

Is that song a one off, or is it on one of their albums?

Plain and simple. Personally, it's my second favorite genre.

Same here.

By the way did you like Neurosis in the end?

Kage 08-03-2005 01:30 PM

Yeah, they're awesome. I have yet to find a band in that style that I don't like, although I still haven't gotten extensively into them because I've been too busy with Pelican (seeing them tonight at 8!) and Isis, etc.

Moses 08-03-2005 01:31 PM

I'm the same way when it comes to different genre's in music. I really can find good music in all genre's.

Ah that would be so good to see.

Syncratic 08-03-2005 01:40 PM

I've been meaning to get into Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Sigur Ros...any suggestions as to what albums are good for people who want to get into them?

Illmatic 08-03-2005 01:41 PM
yea I know, but there musicians. There job is to make music... not make one cd wait 6 years and make another. What are they doing for those six years? From 1963 to 1970 The Beatles released at least one album a year, and pretty much every album they've made is considered great. I just think there slacking. Anything over four years for an active band/musician is too long.
Maynard James Keenan is possessed beyond his own control to create what he feels is a perfect album; therefore he takes as long as he can to meticulously go over every song and make sure it's exactly as he wants it to be.

That's why "eMOTIVE" should have been a total insult to his fans; it felt half-assed and uninspired.
One of my favourite bands are already out GSY!BE
I was one of like, four people to vote for them.

Kage 08-03-2005 01:42 PM
I was one of like, four people to vote for them.
You're looking at the second of the four.

Moses 08-03-2005 01:44 PM

Ray, do you like Tool?

Illmatic 08-03-2005 01:45 PM

I can't say I like or hate them...I used to really like them, but then I went for a long period of time without even listening to them, and now I find it hard to get into them again.

clearvision 08-03-2005 01:46 PM

( ) is meant to be the sigur ros album to get.

I amy have to check out GSY!BE

Moses 08-03-2005 01:47 PM

I see. I get that sometimes too, I can only listen to a single band so many times. Hopefully the new album will deliver and rekindle my interest a little more.

Sigur Ros is beautiful.

Agreed with the whole post.

Yes, you have to. If you like Post Rock at all, GYBE is a necessity.

BlindWriting 08-03-2005 04:08 PM

I've had every intention of picking up ( ) but I there's always something higher up on the list. I should really just break down and buy it one day.

Mr Herb 08-03-2005 04:11 PM

They complain about tool fanboys but Id say no regular here is a fanboy. Just a bucnh of decent tool fans

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-03-2005 04:12 PM

Can someone define post rock for me? I mean, wtf, how can you have post rock when rock is still being created.

@above- The majority of Tool fans here are either the lurkers or n00bs.

/recalls album competition

Or from a different forum all together. :p

Mr Herb 08-03-2005 04:14 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_rock

there you go jake

Adam Jones is GOD 08-03-2005 04:14 PM

All I say is, look at the posting habits of the morons who bash tool, and then do the same with those who say things like 'Not a big fan of tool...', or 'I just dont find their music interesting'. (which is the correct way to express an opinion).

Im betting the first will be another genre forum reg, and the second being a R&M reg.

Preps to YDload as well for giving the first intelligent comment in that thread

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-03-2005 04:17 PM

Post rock= Bands that use rock insturmentation to create music that is non-rock

Is that basically what it is?

Mr Herb 08-03-2005 04:18 PM

Yes is simple terms. :)

My idea of Post Rock is atmospheric, moody, dynamic lead, progressive brilliance.

But I might be biased

clearvision 08-03-2005 04:20 PM

Quit whining Ben and let it pass...Tool will oen that poll anyway...

Nick just hates the way that all the fan boys are like 0mgz tool are amazing, and by the reactions in the thread he kinda has a point. He has expressed an opinion and everyone is ranting.

Mr Herb 08-03-2005 04:22 PM

Meh, its his opinion really, it didnt bother me that much.

This is the internet, lets not get worked up about what some stranger thinks about your favorite band :)

Kage 08-03-2005 04:24 PM

I would take what he said as more of compliment--Tool is a band that needs no introduction! ;)

Adam Jones is GOD 08-03-2005 04:24 PM

Im allowed a moan or two, its only the internet after all.

Besides, im more focusing on whether the Black mages and Deftones get through in this round.

(im still bitter that mogwai are out though)

Futuro 08-03-2005 04:25 PM

i dunno if im immature (probably) but i find tool fans to be BORING, everyone thinks they have to be talking like a scholar all the damn time, i think we should lighten up, i remember when my user title said TOOL SUCKS BALLS!!! everyone in here got all pissy about that...maybe its me.
