Fair enough, and Keele's by no means a bad uni, especially compared to Staffs. The reason I'm at Keele and didn't move is because I've got my band and a side project here.

Squirrel 10-11-2009 11:13 AM

Wasn't implying anything at all, but y getting an undergrad degree (specifically a 2:1 or 1st) then you open up so much more opportunity, it'd be daft to waste it by sticking in the same spot.

You'll probably be able to get a place on a PGCE at a Uni in hte top 15 in the country, if you do well at your current uni.

Afternoon lod. I'm trying to get myself back into a disciplined practice schedule like I did when I took lessons in high school. Problem is I have a habit of getting lazy, so give me some motivational tips.

Hehe that might work. I don't think I'm super awesome at playing but I think I'm pretty good for how long I've been playing. In terms of like technique and speed and stuff I'm better than pretty much everyone I know but I know a few guys who are decent at guitar and are awesome song writers so they beat me musically. I'll be playing and there will be something that I can't quite get down and I'll get pissed and be like "ok I'm done for now, when I come back I'm gonna ****ing practice that for like 3 hours", but when I come back I always forget to practice it...

peopleofwalmart.com is disturbing to say the least, but it is so distracting when you should be studying.

LFD what the ****, all you ever post about is school work, do you ever do anything else and what the **** course are you on, you've been making posts like that for gone 5 years now. Are you just repeating the same year over and over?

Blue_Moon 10-12-2009 08:10 AM

lol uh oh

Left Face Down 10-12-2009 08:46 AM

I think I'm getting sick AGAIN, I just hope it is the stress of today that is doing it. Feel sick in the head, have a back ache, and running a temp of 98.1. Yes, I know, 98.1 isn't running a temp for ****, but I usually run around 97.6 and two weeks ago when I know I had the flu (was pretty much knocked out for a day) I topped out at 98.2 degrees. So it is entirely possible I am getting sick again.

I blame one of my teachers. I sit front row in the class and last Wednesday he is all like I'm getting sick, stay away. TYVFM

Well current torture includes VLSI Design and Neural Networking Design. Safety isn't torture, but it is a P.I.M.A. lot of busy work. I swear, the guy is just like oh, next class read 50 pages and do 30 questions, you can do that every ****ing 2 days minus weekends no problem! You don't have a life or other classes.

Oh, and if I graduate this semester (If I get a 3.0 I do) I am "on time" for my majors. I'm dual majoring with Bachs Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, and I tacked on a mathematics minor since it was only one more class. I mean I already took 23 hours for my major(s), what was one more math class going to do to me?

Hopefully some time early next year I'll be on here bitching about how I can't figure out how to spend the $80k a year I make. Well, seeing the economy sucks it may be more like $60k, but that is rock bottom for an engineer really.

P.S. - "On Time" = 5 1/2 years, and no I usually don't do anything else because school takes up my life.

Blue_Moon 10-12-2009 09:09 AM

good fer u gettin all edumucated

really... i mean that.. all i have is qualifications in friggin music

oary77 10-12-2009 10:02 AM

So lod I think I have found my "recipe" to avoid hangovers.
I got chitfaced last night go home drank a quart of water ate 1 aleve and took one of my pills for anxiety. woke up feelin good and ready to start drinking in an hour and a half.
yay me

Blue_Moon 10-12-2009 10:11 AM

yeah i usually down at least a pint of water and pop 2 painkillers before bed, and usualy eat something small to help soak it up

it works

Squirrel 10-12-2009 10:33 AM

Right so let me get this straight.

Water and painkillers reduce the severity of a hangover.

Who would have known.

thx to Plankis for helpign me with cubase midi issue. lifesaver

oary77 10-12-2009 11:48 AM
And anxiety pills, you forgot them.
Ahh. the anxiety pills are kinda cheatin a bit cause they are similar to the ones they give recovering alcoholics to reduce the effects of DT'n.

They prove to be pretty effetive alone the next day but proper rehydration is key as well. I may have helped if I hadn't smoked a pack and a half of snipes.

well off to go drinking and doin yard work. Yay

How much do I sell a digitech jamman for if it's in mint condition, 1 1/2 years old, and fixed under warranty and runs fine now

bought for about $450

Blue_Moon 10-12-2009 07:10 PM

300$ rrp

im sure u will get an over for 250 or something then u says 275 and everyones happy

Kuffuffled 10-12-2009 07:42 PM

I says 275 so I'll stick with that

Left Face Down 10-12-2009 09:41 PM

I love selling pedals, I tried to sell a Digitech pedal I had for like a year or two but never really used because I could never get it to work well with the whole volume thing. I took it to Guitar Center, they offered me $25, took it to a pawn shop they offered me $15, put it up on eBay and some one payed $140 + S&H. Keep in mind this thing was $125 at guitar center, brand new.

benfan 10-13-2009 06:04 AM

So Music Live (big guitar convention in england) is coming up and im looking at getting a new guitar. Preferably something with an FR an 22-24 frets. Something abit shreddy and fun, cause iv already got 4 other guitars (LP's, Tele's etc). Iv been looking at the Ibanez S series alot. Anyone got any reccomendations?
Im also playing with the idea of getting a 7.

Sup Lod I'm postan in you with my friends iPhone. If I had an iPhone I'd never pay attention in class. The automatic punctuation thing is cool too.

Left Face Down 10-13-2009 07:27 PM

ted.com is interesting, strange, and all around weird. One of my teachers keeps making us do stuff based off of it though. I mean some of this stuff is really interesting, some of it is like wtf are these people smoking?

Yashnaheen 10-14-2009 02:30 AM

Ted is awesome. I especially like Hans Rosling's presentations.

Also, lod, I think I have the swine flu or something. What should I do?

Sad But True 10-14-2009 03:59 AM

Go out and shake hands, kiss, talk to and generally make contact with as many people as you can.

Also sup Lod? How is everyone?

I officially have no money. Whatsoever. I have £3.46 in my bank account, barely and 8th of a tank of petrol, no overdraft (yet) and no student loan (yet).

Yashnaheen 10-14-2009 04:48 AM

I hate DayQuil.

Its awesome for 45 minutes then it wears off. Label says take once every 4 hours. Anyone know of better swine flu meds?

oary77 10-14-2009 04:50 AM

Tamiflu

Sad But True 10-14-2009 04:55 AM

Death.

Modern Iconoclast 10-14-2009 05:33 AM

Taking DayQuil by itself isn't enough, you have to add Cambell's chicken noodle soup and Sprite.

Yashnaheen 10-14-2009 05:39 AM

I have the soup, no sprite though. Can I substitue sprite with coke or coffee?

benfan 10-14-2009 05:48 AM
I have the soup, no sprite though. Can I substitue sprite with coke or coffee?
Substitute it with malt whiskey. You will soon forget about you swine flu.
