I love Mechanix

I wish I see them playing Rattlehead........a total sickness

RATTLE YOUR GODD@MN HEAD !!!!!!

If they come back here (near Philly) on the victory run, I am definitely getting tickets. My dad already has the ear-plugs ready (lol)

Hell yeah I love Rattlehead.

Deth 03-11-2005 09:51 PM

They don't come anywhere near Florida, and I don't blame them.

Saw them in Philly in November...

No KIMB songs at that show. Mechanix I don't mind missing too much, but I'd LOVE to hear Rattlehead or Skull Beneath the Skin or Loved to Deth.

Arise II 03-12-2005 04:05 AM
They didn't play anything from Killing is my business when I saw them :upset:
What did they play from it at that show?
Yeah, when I saw them a few weeks ago, they "only" played songs from Peace Sells thru Cryptic Writings, and quite a lot off of TSHF

Chu 03-12-2005 10:38 AM

I bring news

If you guys watched the Uranium special on Fuse called "Back From the Dead":
Dave said this "If things keep going the way the are, I am going to have to come back and say you know that fairwell tour? Well, it wasn't a fairwell tour."

:D:D:D:D:D:D
Best news, ever?

Edit: I got this from some guy on a gaming forum I'm a member of, I can't guarantee it's 100% true, but I don't think he'd lie like that.

Drone 03-12-2005 10:54 AM

If that is true I will break down and cry in happiness.

Well, I tried to look for details on it.
I checked the vh1 site, and you can download the show that speaks of, I think.
But since I'm only on 128k aDSL, it would prolly take me a few nights.

Edit: I think here http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/megadeth/artist.jhtml

Hoorah for music!

That's really cool. Another Megadeth album would be great.

vashts80 03-12-2005 12:24 PM

The thing is, Dave's solo career basically started with TSHF. No more Ellefson = no more Megadeth, simply because Dave is the only one left from all the lineup changes. Not that it's a bad thing, mind, just simply stating.

MAthiAS 03-12-2005 12:32 PM

Who cares about Ellefson, IMO Dave is Megadeth, if people want to call it the Dave Mustaine Band, I'll still love em. Ellefson only had like 1 cool bass part per album anyway.

And that is the best news ever, thank you all!!!

paco999 03-12-2005 01:15 PM

^^^^another Megadeth album i gotta check if thats true

I always liked Ellefson, but Dave Mustaine pretty much is Megadeth.

paco999 03-12-2005 01:21 PM

^^^ agreed with that. i like most of the dudes that were in and out like marty and company

Chu 03-12-2005 01:41 PM

Paco, when you find out make sure you post here! :)

I'm sorry if this is false and I got everyone's hopes up, I don't think I could ever come back here if that happens :upset:

I loved that
then was nearly sick
retched throughout break before...

then holy wars!!!!

btoto 03-12-2005 05:49 PM

Yeah, I also read somewhere (blabbermouth or something else) an interview of Dave where he said that he didn't expect the tour to be that good. And TSHF is actually Dave's first solo album. He said he already wrote 2 albums but still owed one Megadeth record to the record company. So he decided to make from one of those two, TSHF.
And he also said that tour is being amazing now he's not sure to end Megadeth or not.

:thumb: good news, hell yeah !

I hope he gets Chris for the second album and touring. Although I'm curious how good Glen is.

Maybe Dave is afraid that Chris will again steal all of their equipment and run away to sell it for drugs :naughty:

IAJP 03-12-2005 06:18 PM

I hope they don't split up for a while,
Dave is a very creative force and he still has a lot of relevant things to say, Let's just hope that he recovers from whatever kind of problems he's suffering from :thumb:

AB/CD 03-12-2005 06:18 PM

except for the fact that chris is off drugs

IAJP 03-12-2005 06:24 PM

Chris is a cool guy anyway, He's known Dave for a long time so I doubt he'd do that anyway.

Holy Wars was amazing, I was instantly winded in the mosh that started \m/
To btoto: Glen played really well live, but I havn't heard any music by him.

Never heard King Diamond?

Yes I have, I listen to Mercyful Fate.

MAthiAS 03-12-2005 10:32 PM

Just read on the Deth forums that its highly likely that Megadeth will do a North American tour with Dream Theater after DT releases their new album.

Umm, sweet?

I also think that Glen is good. If Dave says so, then it's true.

However I think the only guy who never messed with other 'deth guitar player's solos was Al. Videos with Pitrelli are amazing. He plays both Chris' and Marty's stuff just like on the albums.

And he had such hot guitar poses. :naughty:

Edit: A while ago I downloaded a live video of Peace Sells (it was early 90's I guess) and Marty played Chris' solos kind of horribly...

Yeah, I have Rude Awakening, and Al is brilliant. He looks completely cool when he plays the solos just how they sound on the albums.

btoto 03-13-2005 07:01 AM

I wonder how could Al hang his explorer so low and still be able to play leads comfortibly (live).

I mean, other lead guitarists usually hang their guitars higher, like on stomach, to able to reach high strings with pinky and so... while playing solos.
But Al hung his guitar like Hethfield and posed so well :naughty:

metal guitar III 03-13-2005 07:04 AM

Yeah, sometimes he's not even looking at what he's playing.

btoto 03-13-2005 07:22 AM

Exactly ! One of the best momets in his playing was when he picked one note and then played everything else with his left hand (with hammer-ons and pull-offs). I think it's called legato.

Also, when he picked the last note of a solo, he'd vibrate it with fretting hand and raise his right hand up like saying *fcvk yeah !*

I'd say he kind of had $ex with his guitar rather than just playing.

metal guitar III 03-13-2005 07:27 AM

Yeah, that bit's really good. This discussion has made me realise how good he is.

btoto 03-13-2005 07:43 AM

I think he could be very good for Megadeth. Dave in his interview said that "Al was good.....no, even very good. But things started to go wrong and he'd get pissed when I won't praise him in my interviews. He'd often put autographs on my horehead when signing posters for fans."

It's weird...

spankyoplank 03-13-2005 07:47 AM

Hi everyone, I'm just here to say sorry for putting Megadeth in the poll for the corniest bands, if you want a reason check out the questions and coplaints sticky.

metal guitar III 03-13-2005 07:47 AM

Egos causing trouble again :-/
Edit: I was suprised they were in corniest band, apology accepted.

Yeah very sorry bout that, not really my idea, I can't say i know much megadeth so I couldn't be a judge.

Peace Sells kicks *** though

vashts80 03-13-2005 10:29 AM

I need to get Rude Awakening. I still haven't gotten the DVD of it. ****s.

MAthiAS 03-13-2005 02:25 PM

I'm pretty sure Al changed some of the solos. Like Hangar 18 and Tornado of Souls just didn't look right to me.

munky_magik 03-13-2005 02:26 PM

He stayed true to the most recognisible parts of the solos, like the main melodies, but changed some of the fiddly bits in between.
Same as what Glen is doing.

Lord Abortion 03-13-2005 03:26 PM

I thought the band were fantastic
I already knew how good james was from his work with Iced earth
(LISTEN TO THEM IF YOU DON'T ALREADY)
