Eddie...do you have AOL instant messenger? and im sooooooo glad you have gotten into Geddy Lee so much! Rush are one of two bands (SP also) that the same are my love for Iron Maiden :)
sorry, i dont have that.... :upset: hehe, well, geddy is an kickass bassist, it was only a cuestion of time..(somthing its not with Victor Wooten and Jaco Pastorius, NEVER!!) |
do you think running free live with bruce dickinson is better than the album version with di anno? i think the album version is better but my friend says the live 1 is
i like running free with bruce live better... that song is more like an bruce song... |
i like the songs off the 1st album rather than the live versions like iron maiden, sanctuary, running free. have u ever heard charlotte the harlot live?
|
i like running free with bruce live better... that song is more like an bruce song...
Rubbish! It's a song about a drunken tearaway - not really appropriate for clean living Brucie! Plus Di'anno had a much rawer voice |
i think the beginning of the album version sounds like that song off the full monty

vocalvise, the sound of that song with bruce dickinson sounds better IMO |
Paul's voice is moer agressive and raw, but the sound of Iron Maiden is to polished for it IMO and the band wouldnt have reached where they did today with out Bruce. Bruce's sense of songwriting as well brought the band to a new level where Paul was more just a frontman, I enjoy some of the Paul era material with Bruce more but some songs just arnt for him to sing like "Drifter".

yeah, drifter i will agree dont fit for bruce, but if running free hadnt fitted his voice, iron maiden wouldnt played it on about every tour... and, GET BACK THE TWINS! i start to miss em... |
very true, i like Running Free better with Bruce as well as Sanctuary. But Drifter and Another Life (anything that is more "punkish" at times) goes better with Paul, but i like how Bruce handles old classics like Wrathchild and Iron Maiden live as well.
PS: ill bring'um back in due time :) |
hey, i just got an OLD Adrian Smith instructional video off of Kazaa :) really cool!!!

|

|
Is there anybody here?
|
I have been in to Maiden for only year... but I just love it! :chug: I have 8 of their original studio-albums... And Eddie's archive box and two dvds, Rock in Riuo anf Visions of the beast :thumb: And my rooms walls are full of them! :thumb: :thumb:
|
Wow, don't burn yourself out there. I've been a fan for only a year too, but I've just got three albums and learned a lot of basslines. I hope you're not going through some sort of Maiden "phase" where you get tired of them too quickly. Pace yourself!

haha, Yes...Rush are tied with my other two favourites....Iron Maiden and SP, and Megadeth is tied after that with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath haha. its like groupings!! if you ever have any Rush questions just ask me in here or e-mail me at * geezerbutler@hotmail.com * and ill be glad to help! ive liked Rush for almost a decade now, i used to hate them when i was little, but when i got my bass at age 13 i instantly fell in love with Geddy and when you have musicians like Alex and Neil along side him its really a one of a kind group. No other 3-peiece band can match their live sound nor their songwriting talents, even Neil's lyrics are phenominal in theirself!!! When im at a rock show i tell people my favouite band is Rush, and at a metal show i tell them Iron Maiden haha. |

hehe, i have seen it to, have it at an cd "somewhere in shelf"...(deamn im funny.. :p) didnt do much for me though, as im an bass player exclusive... |
hehe, yeah i used to just focus on bass 100% but i got really into guitar and its really 50% 50% now with them as i can actually solo very well on guitar and still gallop and tap on bass like a not-as-good-Billy-Sheehan lol. Adrian's warmups are great because hes telling you what you do need to know, not work on speed...but on finger strentgh and the exercises he does are really sweet...i liked the Wickerman solo the most because i LOVE to play that lead! lol :thumb:
PS: what time is it in Norway? its like 4 in the afternoon here, i gotta work at 5 :( |

I've lived in england all my life, and I have tried and failed to meet any of 'em :(. Where abouts in england you going? when you get here you will notice only a few people wearing Maiden t-shirts (even though Maiden are Britains best export EVER) Edit I have just been looking at the last page, and the longest anybody here has been listening to maiden is 5 years.........I'm shocked, I have been listening to Maiden since I was in the womb (my mother used to listen to powerslave and somewhere in time when she was pregnant with me) and I have been listening to them non-stop since then (except on two occasions, the first being when we lost all the LPs for 1 whole year, and the second when Bruce left, but I did listen to the olders albums I had, I just didn't follow the band as much. oh and by the way I'm 18 in 3 weeks and I get my A-level Results on the same day </spam> |
