Yeah, why's the site not working? It's been almost two weeks now that it's been acting weird. That's long enough for me to buy a tube amp for $200. If only I could find one of those. . .

Something like that.

da_s_man13 07-12-2006 10:38 PM

If your forcing yourself to play you may aswell quit Jody, whats the use...seriously.

Jody LeCompte 07-12-2006 10:38 PM

I should have won a cab too but I can only be so evil.

It's funny because I wanted the pickups they gave away. They gave away a set of bart musicmans and I was disappointed when I didnt win them.

Crikey Judd, is that a t-20?

da_$_man13: I like writing music with a band and playing live, but I have no desire to ever practice.
I understand music, but music PERFORMANCE? YOU?!

:p jk
The band I have now (I play guitar and do vocals) is like On the Might of Princes...and I've decided this is what I want to do for the rest of my life so I figured music performance was a good area to study.

So mix things up with your bass, try a different brand of strings, restring it lefty, play it lap style.

Anything to spice it up.....................Like a good relationship that has become a bit stale, you need to find something new within it to make it interesting

MyFriendOfMisery 07-12-2006 10:42 PM

I find it boring also to play by myself or play with a cd or something. Then every once in a while I get to play with some my friends and wow I love it so much. But everytime we start getting together often something happens.

You're not in college yet are you? Music performance is one of the most competitive majors, and in the long run, it doesn't have much potential afterwards. If you have fun though, best of luck to you.

Jody LeCompte 07-12-2006 10:45 PM

I play acoustic alot because I can mix rhythm, lead, and percussive techniques to get a full sound.

I just feel lke I should play bass because I need to get better but when I get to playing, it's just like "Well, I have nothing to push me, might as well just go play guitar some more.

MyFriendOfMisery 07-12-2006 10:46 PM

Jody take a break from it. You may just be doing it too much.

Just tossing ideas out there.

Hey, maybe take a classical music piece and see if you can modernise it

I know, but I really like the band I'm in right now and music performance seems smart to study for what I want to do with this band.

Listen to "For Meg." We sound a lot like that.

I have a feeling I jocked them to you before but you were lame and didn't like them.

Well if you enjoyed that then don't stop there.

Pick other stuff and arange it to a specific style or something you like and then record it.

You could be like Richard Cheese, a chap who takes popular songs and redoes them in a Vegas lounge singer way.

Its bloody hilarious to hear "down with the sickness" done in that style

Aerodyne 07-12-2006 10:49 PM

Guitar Center felt like being friendly. I gave them the breakdown on why I shouldn't buy the amp and with a little work I got them down $150. It was really funny cause right next to this amp was a display of the little crate amps like the one that's sitting on top for the same price. :thumb:

It's definitely kinda heavy, 3/4 inch plywood with steel edging. But it has castors so it's not impossible. But the tubes are outrageous. Direct they cost about $80 each but I've seen them on the 'bay for about $20. It's crazy though, two tubes running at 100w. It's nice, not very loud though, it gets lots of distortion if I try to get alot of volume, but I'll figure something out.

Jody: Nope, it's a peavey patriot I got in a pawnshop in florida for about $100. It's like the t-20 and t-40, but with one super ferrites pickup. It needs a little work, though g-string has a buzzy 17th fret, and I think I might rig it like a rickenbacker, with the sd ric set and stereo output with the neck wired direct.

ebe9 07-12-2006 10:50 PM

Well I have a meeting shortly, so I will catch you all a bit later.

So long...................................for now
