point the blame is good too

cept i really believe some of it was meant for tomas...this is just my opinion dont throw a fit cuz of it

Brain Toad 01-12-2006 04:02 PM

I don't like the idea of remaking KN. Just seems stupid and uneccessary and very lazy not to write new songs, but that's just me.

Lukeh 01-12-2006 04:07 PM

Yeah, I agree really but I know that I'll still buy the album because I'm such a SM fanboy and I don't own Catch 22's version of it anyway.
I think they're using this as an excuse to spend more time working on new material, because all of the new material of theirs that I've heard so far sounds pretty short, as if they've only really got snippets of songs that have yet to be made into something bigger and more complete. But hey, for all I know they could do something completely different and more suprising.

Liebensaft 01-12-2006 04:14 PM

I'm not buying anything. I'm downloading it from whoever downloads it from whoever downloads it from whoever downloads it from the first person on Soulseek to buy it.

Jas 01-12-2006 04:27 PM

I will buy it and love it, whether it's a cover album or if the content is something completely different we don't expect.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 01-12-2006 04:28 PM

Why did the name get changed to Ghey.

probably, that's when they were fighting

zarnoz 01-12-2006 07:30 PM

i have a question if u dont mind me asking:

did jeff davidson write alot of the songs in alone in a crowd like tomas did for KN?

cuz he left c22 also right? (and believe it or not he actually does gang vocals for BOTAR)

tappenzee 01-12-2006 07:59 PM

I'm expecting nothing short than a complete re-interpretation of KN

If the melodies and structure is exactly the same, then what's the point?

No, I have a good feeling about this. I feel like they're gonna strip down these songs and rebuild them from scratch, and we'll in essence get pretty much a new album.

Just a hunch, I dunno

AIRIC 01-12-2006 08:09 PM

Yeah I'd go with that.

FauxApathy 01-12-2006 09:03 PM

Can anyone tell me which line he's talking about?

AIRIC 01-12-2006 09:07 PM

"If you hate me so much stop playing my songs"

jettadude77 01-12-2006 11:47 PM

what if this album isn't the cover album that it is rumored to be and is actually the new album, but just taking the old title? maybe it's just wishful thinking though.... yeah, probably just wishful thinking.

Kithkin 01-12-2006 11:56 PM

There are plenty of lines in Alone in a Crowd that could be against Thomas. Mostly Hard to Impress. If you go back in the thread you can find some of my posts where I looked at lyrics. I don't remember every instance right now though.

Alone in a Crowd is a great album. It's not KN but it's a very solid album, mostly because they still had a dedicated singer and songwriter.

The Washed Up ep is good too.

Dinosaur Sounds is just bad.

TAND 01-13-2006 06:24 AM

I don't like all of Alone In A Crowd. But it has some good songs. Bloomfield Ave, I've been there. :smoke:

Henrik 01-13-2006 08:47 AM

There is an official date on http://www.victoryrecords.com

I'm beginning to believe it this time. The new picture is up too.

My exact opinion.

I've tried like 10 times to listen to Dinosaur Sounds from front to back and failed miserably every time. In 5 or 6 songs I have to switch it off.

Henrik 01-13-2006 10:54 AM

Haha:)

I don't really like the washed up ep that much. Kind og boring... I like the live stuff at the end though, except Kristina that version sucks.

_lower_class_brat_ 01-13-2006 12:30 PM

My name is exactly the same as on here. Crack-Rock-Steady.

I've got it.

the-UK-ska-scene 01-13-2006 05:03 PM

I'm sure if Streetlight are REALLY gonna re-do Keasbey (I think everyone should still be sceptical) then they're gonna properly re-do it. I mean, listen to BOTAR's Dear Sergio:, and Streetlight's Here's To Life (yeah I know that's a BOTAR cover and not Catch22, I just mean they aren't half-arsed with their covers). They'll come good. & I don't wanna hear no whinging or griping about it, yeah Streetlight are like a cult band, who have a big following, so it'd be ironic to go on about how their second album sucks the big one. It's not cool to be ironic anymore. You gotta be post-ironic. I wanna see EVERY SINGLE ONE of you pretending to like it if and when it hits the streets.

AIRIC 01-13-2006 05:04 PM

Streetlight aren't capable of releasing bad material anyway.

Henrik 01-14-2006 07:17 AM

If they really are releasing some music in march, What is the line-up? I can't figure out who are still in the band. Are their any original EGN-members left except for Tomas?

Henrik 01-14-2006 09:34 AM

I've been listening to rules of the game in the last days, and I love it. Cool to hear Kn-songs in early versions. The two punk songs that didn't get on Keasbey nights are really good. I like 'em both better than giving up giving in.

"I don't give a **** about you- I'M BETTER THAN YOU".

Haha, I knew someone would do that as soon as I wrote the phrase "if and when..." :p
