Anyone have any experience with the the 12" zildjian a custom special recording hats? I found them for $100 and I'm interested.

bobby__johnny 08-08-2005 05:12 PM

unless your buying them as auxilliary hats, dont bother....12" is too small for a decent main hat.

Deranged_Drummer15 08-09-2005 01:28 PM

I play music similar to Thrice, would 14" Sabian AAX Stage Hats work for that type of music? Those are the hats I'm looking at...any help is greatly appreciated.

Chester 08-09-2005 01:44 PM

its not always about the bands u play music of, its what u like, u can use whatever, but those hats are excelent and i recomend them to any buyer, theyr one of sabians most versatile hi-hats

Deranged_Drummer15 08-09-2005 02:05 PM

Ok, because I think those are what I'm going to get....I hope not a bad choice. Any crashes to go with that? I'm looking for something with a shorter sustain that's brighter and then another crash with a medium sustain and a little less bright. Thanks for the help

I disagree. They're rather bright and work best in rock situations, I find - which, of course, makes them great for what the guy wants out of them.

Hey Drum Peepz..............question advice wanted....

Have Ludwigs 5 pc w/ 13" New Beats, 18" A Custom Crash, 17" A Custom Projection Crash. However I have the worlds worse ride still left over from my beginner kit....ZBT RIDE. I have to move on...and catch up....I really want a great ride. I like my other cymbals that I have upgraded. However I do not like so much the A Custom rides I have heard. What would be the best addition.......

I love the K sound and almost got K hats..... I like rock as well as jazz but I would rather keep my kit more on the rock side for now....I have heard many a peepz suggest K Rides non the less..... YOUR SUGGESTIONS and HELP will be APPRECIATED.....!

aywkubt_tod 08-09-2005 06:53 PM

i'd go Zildjian 21" Avendis Sweet Ride

DruMMeR_BoY14 08-10-2005 02:38 AM

Look at A Medium and Ping rides, the K ride, K heavy ride and the K Custom ride.

slickrick1688 08-10-2005 01:57 PM

PremierManiac 08-11-2005 10:33 PM

GooseFilms.net 08-12-2005 12:05 AM

zofo, look into k custom rides

K's
zofo, look into k custom rides
The K's are very pretty........ :p I really struggled between the Avedis New Beat and K hats..........went New Beats. So do u think A Hats, A Custom Crashes and K Ride all mesh well.........?

Is the K Heavy the most rock like....?

LostInMusic464 08-12-2005 04:44 PM

Would you guys suggest an 18" AAX Dark Crash for a Crash to ride with? I'm looking to replace my Z Custom 18" Projection which I sometimes ride on.

Tim 08-12-2005 06:47 PM

i dont know much about splash cymbals so whats a good versatile splash?

Iskandar 08-12-2005 07:11 PM
i dont know much about splash cymbals so whats a good versatile splash?
Selecting a splash shouldn't be too difficult: there aren't that many to choose from. I say go 10": AA or Avedis will work fine.

Tim 08-12-2005 08:11 PM

yea thats what i was thinking the avedis 10inch. i had also thought aax too but im not sure.

LostInMusic464 08-12-2005 09:45 PM

Check out Wuhan splashes also, you'll save quite a bit of money.

CombatWombat3 08-12-2005 09:47 PM

^^^they're REALLY not for everyone though, and not esecially versatile.
