partially that, and the 2350985610562309867 turnovers.

AIRIC 02-04-2007 08:20 PM

Seriously what's the deal with the turnovers. Pretty ridiculous.

cobert 02-04-2007 08:21 PM

Fumblitis.
That super bowl was the most depressing thing I've ever seen. Darfur is like Candyland compared to that.
Front runner for quote of the month.

whiteminority 02-05-2007 03:22 PM

I'll second that nomination.

bottlerocket 02-06-2007 09:20 AM

I hate Peyton Manning.

SGlove 02-06-2007 10:58 AM

He's lovable though.
And by that I mean marketable.

RetiredAt21 02-06-2007 11:00 AM

Fuck that. I'd punt his head.

bottlerocket 02-06-2007 11:58 AM

He's such a whiny brat.

Does anyone but me think there's a connection between all the freaking commercials he was in this year AND his Super Bowl Championship and MVP status?

I love* corporate America.

* hate

Eliminator 02-06-2007 12:06 PM

did anyone actually pay attention to the commercials

cobert 02-06-2007 12:14 PM

The only commercial I remember laughing at was the snickers one when the dudes accidentally kissed. It was funny until they overdid it at the ending.

Peyton Manning has a protruding forehead.

Eliminator 02-06-2007 12:19 PM

they played a lot of the same commercials too.

bottlerocket 02-06-2007 12:28 PM

The commercials were pretty funny.

The halftime show was funnier; when Prince's shadow was behind the sheet and he was playing guitar. Man, that looked hysterical. I hope people picked up on the innuendo.

Eliminator 02-06-2007 12:30 PM

because when it's prince it's obviously innuendo

cobert 02-06-2007 12:31 PM

Everything is innuendo with Prince.

Eliminator 02-06-2007 12:32 PM

prince is prince.

and is a hell of a lot better than the rolling stones.

cobert 02-06-2007 12:34 PM

How gay was that opening performance thing though?

bottlerocket 02-06-2007 01:21 PM

How lame was it that the Colts won?

I wouldn't care nearly as much if Peyton didn't win MVP.

No, actually, I don't care at all...scratch that.

Matt? 02-07-2007 07:02 PM

i miss when g4 was good tv.

JUDGEMENT DAY

RouteOne 02-07-2007 07:03 PM

G4 is "meh" now.

Matt? 02-07-2007 07:05 PM

totally, it's depressing

RouteOne 02-07-2007 07:06 PM

The hostesses are cute though. Except that one with a huge mouth that does the cheats and codes segment.

Matt? 02-07-2007 07:11 PM

yeah but at least before it kind of felt like they played video games. i don't get that from the new hosts.

RouteOne 02-07-2007 07:14 PM

True.

JUDGEMENT DAY
That show ruled, I was just thinking about it yesterday too.

srt-4 02-07-2007 11:02 PM

i've read almost no fiction for probably like five years (excluding all the lies people tell on the internet), but today i picked up a short story book that somebody had left out on a table in the library, and for no particular reason read this story, which i thought was cool:
http://www.npr.org/programs/death/readings/stories/bart.html

since i don't read fiction, i'm not very qualified to judge its merits. but since its really short, and i really liked it, i wanted to share.

cobert 02-08-2007 03:23 PM

Speaking of short stories, has anyone in here read Hot Water Music?

srt-4 02-08-2007 03:31 PM
It's funny it'd be Donald. We read that for creative writing class this past semester. It's really good. If you want I can recommend a bunch of other really good/similar short fiction. It's featured in this anthology called You've Got to Read This that my professor put together. It's pretty legit.

EDIT: This one short story is much longer but it's awesome. It's called "Comm Comm" and I forget who did it. Check it out.
i found that comm comm story. this it? http://www.newyorker.com/fiction/content/articles/050801fi_fiction
