They're both great bands, so who cares which one is better?
There are times where I think Megadeth completely owns Metallica, and vise versa. The greatest thing possible in my opinion would be a Megadeth/Metallica album. |

Too bad that will never happen. Metallica and Megadeth are pretty equal in my opinion. I consider Rust in Peace on the same level as MOP. |

Megadeth is more technically skilled than Metallica (at least guitar wise). But in terms of whos songs have more energy, sound better, and u can listen to more its Metallica. I will go through stretches of Megadeth for a while then one day i will stop listening to it and wont listen to them for months. But i will always listen to Metallica.

I think the drum, bass and vocal work in Metallica is better than Megadeth, but Mustaine is a better guitarist than both of them. |
Hahaha, Drum work better in Metallica? You must be joking.
|
Megadeth >>>>> Metallica
That is all. |
Hahaha, Drum work better in Metallica? You must be joking.
I wouldnt know im a guitar player. But Metallica are 1000 times better at writing songs (IMO), and overall thats what really matters am i right? And vocals are definitly better in Metallica, thats the worst part about Megadeth, and Cliff and Rob are both bed then D. Elf. |

yes he can't
|
yea most of you guys need to leave, there's an official megadeth thread.
megadeth is better now, but for about 20 years metallica was so much better |
Who sings backing vocals on The Unnamed Feeling?
|
Who sings backing vocals on The Unnamed Feeling?
probably james. but in the studio you can record tracks and tracks of voices and it could sound like 100 people |
probably james. if not, jason. but in the studio you can record tracks and tracks of voices and it could sound like 100 people
...Jason?? Its James double tracking vocals. :thumb: Itll always be that on a cd unless stated otherwise. |
probably james. if not, jason. but in the studio you can record tracks and tracks of voices and it could sound like 100 people
Jason? C'mon Joe. U know Jason wasnt in Metallica for St.Anger. |

In my opinion.
well it's not my opinion. 90,000,000+ cd's sold is a lot more compared to megadeth's 15,000,000 |
Jason? C'mon Joe. U know Jason wasnt in Metallica for St.Anger.
  /feels like an idiot /it's way to early... |
Mustaine can't sing. So? You either love or hate Mustaine's vocals.
|
Mustaine can't sing. So? You either love or hate Mustaine's vocals.
I like his vocals. they don't bother me. BUT his vocals are nowhere near as good as james vocals |
Guys, stop the fuckin' Metallica vs. Megadeth debate. I cleary said I didn't want to start another one. This is a Metallica thread anyway.
|

I'm sure Cher has sold more albums than Megadeth aswell, sure as hell doesn't make her better. |
New Topic.
How long do you reckon it will be before Metallica come to the UK again? |
Probably not until their new album gets released, or sometime near there.
|
Mustaine can't sing. So? You either love or hate Mustaine's vocals.
I like Mustaine's vocals, but he can't sing. Metallica will be in the UK in June 2006 probably, maybe appear at Download? |

Yeah but they already had the songs written and everybody knew them perfectly (except maybe kirk). For St.Anger they had to write the songs and then perfect them and then record them. My guess is it will be out mid 2006. Which means they probly wont get to Europe to Early-late 2007. |
i think that Mustaine has the last word on that,'cause metallica seems to be cool with dave(altough they where jackasses with him 20 years ago).
Why were the jackasses to him? Because he was a drunked alcoholic who couldn't stop drinking when on schedule? You people need to stop acting like metallica kicked him out for no reason. Megadeth is still good, although their vocals suck imo. So again, THERE was a reason for kicking him out. They didn't just do it because they felt like doing it. :thumb: |

Yeah, but think about it from Dave's point of view. He wasn't given any chances. The people he thought were his friends just said bye to him one day and never talked to him for years and years. I'd probably have kicked him out too, not gunna lie. But maybe a warning? Something like that. |

And perhaps they were harsh. But Im just saying there is a reason, and when you have schedule and stuff, you cant really do what you want and when you want otherwise it screws up everything for the whole team/band. So basically dave caused this problem, but rest of the band didn't do much to help him. So it's kinda 50/50. |

I would be pissed as hell if that happened to me! I would wanna screw metallica over really bad. I think they could have been great with dave still in the band. I loved metallica with dave mustaine. |

Donington is held in June so it would make sense for them to be touring then, and it's probably right after their next album. |
(kea took 21 days and st anger took 2 years)
Didn't saint anger take 2 years cause james had problems and needed help, and that 4 oclock schedule ****? I dont think he'll need help when they work on upcoming album. I think they'll make the new album much much quicker than 2 years. |

Haha yeah i totally forgot abou the "stop by 4 so i can spend time with my family" sh!t. This will probly be one of there last albums, so he has 30 years to spend with his children. Metallica>>>Family :D |
(kea took 21 days and st anger took 2 years)
that might be because they had alot of time before they were recording to write and perform and perfect the songs. However that is an interesting stat. :D |

I agree with that. However, I think that Bob Rock delays the release date of their albums with his unnecessary over-production... The Black Album took almost 1 year uninterrupted. Live Sh!t didn't take long, because that was live. Load took about 1 year. St. Anger also took about a year without all the uninteruptions. Pre Bob Rock albums only took a matter of a couple of months at the most. Few Metallica fans like Bob Rock...there's a petition somewhere to get him removed. |
anyone know when they start recording new album
