and his vocals on TLLOA are a lot whinier than anything on Bleak.

I can appreciate some of the new austere, however the vocals on their earlier material were far better.

yeah definitely, they were insane. now they just sound like run of the mill, overproduced black metal.

Yes exactly a music forum not a "non watered down black metal forum". I mean just because something isn't in a certain genre (btw no genre is set in stone and is very opinionated unless we are talking about cornerstone bands) isn't grounds for not listening to it/degrading it's musical value. I dunno so many people go "sheesh this band is worthless it's not even black metal". Well the band probably wasn't shooting for that sound, I doubt they focusing on being a certain genre and rather just making the musical work that they wanted to....

i completely agree with the whole "disregading bands because of being in different genres" is bullpoop thing.

Are there any groups that sound similar to early Anaal Nathrakh? I'm not a huge fan of their newer stuff and I can't really find anyone that's fused grindcore with black metal in such a way.
