Shaft! 02-09-2006 04:36 PM

Wow, I haven't shown up in here in a long time.
I just got back from the doctor because I've had a sudden change in sleeping habits.
I've got depression, she says. Blood work will be done tomorrow to make sure I don't have mono or some blood disease.
I like running well enough. I just don't like doing it in an insane amount of excess. Yesterday I ran an orienteering (cross country, basically) course...roughly 3 miles long then was forced to run another mile without a break.
It got old.
That's a lot of Pink Floyd!

I just listen to a lot of music. Usually there are about 20 artists or so who fell under the top 10.

Black on Grey? They've got nothing on the funktastic fury of my new kicks! They're both ADIDAS though.

Well, the top is usually at 20-30, then it the rest hang between 9-13

Actually I think my iTunes isn't working properly. I have definately played this Sonata Arctica stuff more than 10 times and it's not on my top 25. Last.fm don't work for me either.

NP- Sonata Arctica - Wildfire.

Tyler 02-09-2006 04:44 PM

Yeah it doesnt track every play sometimes, it's random. Still, I like it. Mine says I listen to around 170 unique artists a week, which I guess explains why the top artists only have around 9 or so plays a week.

Jev 02-09-2006 04:45 PM

Yeah, same here. But I love Sonata Arctica at the moment, as you may be able to tell.

There's no shame in that :smoke:

Hey, I've been hearing some good stuff about these guys. R U interested in uploading some samples?

As always email is lightningmetal666@yahoo.com

Jom 02-09-2006 05:00 PM

Okay guys, new stomp box question.

Um, how, exactly, do I hook it up between the amplifier and the guitar? I thought it was amp -> stompbox -> instrument, but there's no input for it other than the AC adapter. Oh, except for the metal things, but there's no way my cable will run through the stompbox. Do I need even more cables?

Help?

Shadows 02-09-2006 05:04 PM

You should have two cables. One to go from the amp to the box and one running from the box to the instrument.

Jom 02-09-2006 05:06 PM

Man, I really can't envision the jack fitting into the holes here. It probably doesn't help that I don't have my gear here with me to visualize it, but do I need a specific cable size for this thing, or what?

But at least I now know I need a second cable. Crap.

Shadows 02-09-2006 05:08 PM

I don't think so. I don't know if stomp boxes are all built the same or if some differ, but mine takes two standard size instrument cables.

Jom 02-09-2006 05:11 PM

Well, thanks for the help. I'll just have to talk to him about it. It just seems like the holes will be large enough, but I need a second cable is all. That makes more sense... so, thanks again.

gillygan 02-09-2006 05:12 PM

Im gonna write an article on a rock band in the school newspaper. Any ideas on atleast a semi mainstream rock band?

Steerpike 02-09-2006 05:12 PM

Yeah that's one thing you are gonna need. Being's that I have that exact wah pedal, I can help you. On the left should be the output that goes to the amplifier, on the right should be the instrument input. Notice on the griptape it tells you which jack goes where. If I'm wrong I apologize.

Also fyi, if you want to get a distortion pedal in the future for your amp (don't know what kind of amp you've got or how much gain you like) here is the best way to go for a good signal when you're hooking up your wah as well.

Guitar>Wah>Distortion>Amp

Thanks man, you were a lot of help! The set-up also helps a ton, heh :)

He was also selling a distortion pedal... it had some funky name like Grilled Cheese or something and was bright yellow for $20, but the site was giving it poor scores, so I opted out.

Do it on Dredg or Porcupine Tree. Expose the people to excellent music.

Question I seem to be asking the most as of late : are they Power Metal ?

Neurotoxin 02-09-2006 06:01 PM

I have decided to go on a humanitarian relief project in the Dominican Republic. I'll be building houses and all that jazz. Just thought I'd let everyone know, haha.

I think a mix of power and prog. I just got into them so Im not really sure. THe vocals remind me of Children of Bodom, but the music is a mix of Symphony X, Dream Theater and Kalmah. I only listened to the cd once, so I may be a little off.
