I can't really run worth sh*t but since I've lost 30 lbs. I've been a lot faster than I've been in a while.

It's also nice to see someone older than me for a change. I know Jom is but I don't see to many other ppl that are.

Haha, that's hilarious.

My media essay's going extremely well, even if it is a little short.

Tyler 02-09-2006 03:13 PM

Essay's that focus on length are usually just long. Keeping it concise and to the point is the way to go.

GenuineImitation 02-09-2006 03:23 PM

Remember this: An essay has to be like a girl's skirt. Long enough to cover the "subject", but short enough to keep things interesting.

That works fine, aslong as you don't overdo it. My english teacher for example graded a piece of my work as follows:
Content: A
Length: E

Me: :/

So yeah, I have to be carefull with that.

I changed it a font size up and now it's half a page longer. All good. My Romeo and Juliet was 2 pages long :/

I'm going to be buying a wah pedal off of a musician friend here at uni soon.

This one, to be specific.

He's also giving me the power supply :-D

It looks like a reasonable pedal... any thoughts/concerns to those of you who play with a wah pedal (Cain, kurrupt, etc.)? Thanks, guys.

GenuineImitation 02-09-2006 03:30 PM

That looks nice, but does it sound good. Ask him to try it out before you buy it.

Its from Dunlop, so Im sure it sounds good.

Haha, one of my first courseworks was also one of the first things I typed up so I set the font to either 8/10 I can't remember. Either way about 700-800 words took up about half a page  Still, it was awarded A and my teacher asked me to use a larger font in future so no trouble there. My courseworks remain shorter then most peoples to this day though, but I still get a good mark so it's all good.

NP:Hank Williams - I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive

Tyler 02-09-2006 03:33 PM

I'm lucky, my essays all tend to be both long and pedantic. It's not really intentional, just once I get going I find it hard to stop.

I know he's taken good care of it, because he was serious about playing music, even outside of a hobby. But unfortunately, he has a girlfriend, and he is getting to the point where he's giving her a big surprise this weekend and doesn't have enough money to do it, so he's slowly selling some of his guitar stuff (I was going to buy his 12-string acoustic last year, but balked because I'm a dumbass).

However, he's still recording and things, because he got a Powerbook and a bunch of other doohickies which cost him quite a bit of dough, heh. But yeah, I trust him. I'm not paying a lot for it to begin with, so getting the power supply is kind of like a bonus for free.

Yeah, I don't follow most of the guidelines and I still get high Bs. It's weird, I feel my coursework could be improved so much but don't know how to do it yet my teachers feel there's not much I should do.

Illmatic 02-09-2006 03:40 PM

when it comes to essays, I spit mad fire. I'm pretty brief about it.

and speaking of staying in shape I'm about to go workout in like 5-10 minutes. I can run two miles in like 15, 15 and a half minutes or so.

kurrpt 02-09-2006 03:42 PM

i think teachers place way too much emphasis on LENGTH.

Some people can say things concisely. Others just like to hear themselves talk.

Ever hear Kelsey Grammar talk ?

I have that exact wah pedal and it is garbage. Do not buy it Jom.

Get a vox or a morley. You have a very limited wah range on that pedal and it does not have the fasel inductor like it's more expensive counterparts.

I think that all that matters in an essay is the main point of what you are trying to say. It doesn't really matter how long it is. I think that teachers have a rule for it to be a certain length so (say for instance you're doing an essay on shakespeare) you don't say something retarded like "bill's a cool guy and I like him" over and over. I'm not defending the fact that they want you to write until your arm falls off, but they just want you to think about it a little. (I'm trying to become a teacher so bare with me a bit.)

I only run fast if I'm chasing after a macho combo burrito from Dell Taco. Mmmmmm burrito. Then after 100 ft. I give up.

I've got to get in better shape. A month ago I weighed 305 and now I'm at 275 so I'm kicking @$$ already.
