So EddieVH, good to see you've got some stars now
I got a double-pedal for Christmas, and I'm terrible at it

I'm just not meant for a double-pedal I guess
Not so, it took me a few months to get decent at double bass, and I am still learning new things about it now. It just takes practice, thats all.

Distant Echoes 01-28-2005 03:23 PM

Ive never really seen the need for double bass, unless i have some riffs to do during a solo or something...but i never wasted my money. Instead i got a sweet pearl eliminator. I really think their better then the tama ICs, thats my personal preferance though

Well I worked at it for about a month, then got p*ssed off so I took it off and put my beauty Gibraltar back on :) .......even though the double bass is a Gibraltar make too.

I might try it again some time, we'll see
Did I get on the list?
Of course not. Your constant elitism is charming :).

If they ever try i'll fight againsted it.

I want to be on it, now I know that I've officially sold out :upset:

I need to add more bands to my "incessant flame" list.

I imagine that it's much like altering your picking style. To begin with it'll put you back some steps but peresevere and you'll get the hang of it eventually.

For me trying to learn to finger pick with a full hand is so hard. I want to just use my thumb index and middle fingers but for classical guitar you need to use your whole hand. Hard.

Distant Echoes 01-28-2005 03:39 PM

how much rep do you need for stars?

Dancin' Man 01-28-2005 03:39 PM

1000 and 1000 posts

It is for me to. I'd like to be able to fingerpick like classical players can.

Yeah that is a good comparison, it may set you back a while, but it will make you a much more coordinated and well rounded player.

Ive tried that before...and failed...so i gave up. Its so much easier

I can only fingerpick when the riff im playing is too fast. I havent done it for a while, but i might try to learn the trees by rush to get back into it

Dancin' Man 01-28-2005 03:43 PM

I finger pick on acoustic only. Electric always sounds weird to me, fingerpicked.

Flamenco picking is so much worse as far as I'm concerned. Playing tremolo with your 4 fingers and the bass part with your thumb is just impossible :upset:

Distant Echoes 01-28-2005 03:44 PM

Well i had to use my electric, since the acoustic i have is over 20 years old, and its hard enough to play as it is (too much action)

magicbus 01-28-2005 03:45 PM

I can only finger pick one song. Othertimes it can get hard. Thanks for all the rep.

Distant Echoes 01-28-2005 03:47 PM

Ive always wanted to learn the doors - spanish caravan. That crazy intro is sweet.

Im gonna leave for now, my sister just got back from college. Gotta help her unpack. Rep for all!

My guitar player fingerpicks in some of our songs, and he uses a line selector to send the low end to one amp, and the mids/highs to another amp on the opposite side of my kit. Sounds really cool.

Never figured out what a line selector did.

Heh, no problem on my part. R&M looks after it's own :)
Heh, no problem on my part. R&M looks after it's own :)
Yea I figured I should hang here more. But I'm mostly in the Classic Rock thread, and that's R&M, so its all good.

-Obscurity- 01-28-2005 04:03 PM
Never figured out what a line selector did.
Basically, a line selector allows you to send your guitar signal to two or more amps. You can have one amp with a certain effect on it, split your signal based on eq, or do the classic left side/right side stereo switchoff. You can do alot more than that to, it really is a cool thing to have. But you do need at least two amps.

magicbus 01-28-2005 04:10 PM

Ok. I only have one, but that'd be fun to try out.
