Darkness 08-02-2005 02:42 PM

Probably won't happen this month.. but maybe with some luck September.

Syncratic 08-02-2005 02:45 PM

If it was September...my god, that would be sweet.

Mr Herb 08-02-2005 02:46 PM

prob wont even be this year

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 03:26 PM

If it was this year, it would make my year EVEN MORE than seeing DT in October

But I really doubt it will be this year :(

OOOOH that PT album (Stupid Dream) was AMAZING! I loved it! I already have In Absentia and a few songs off Deadwing, but that has totally convinced me that they are great. I think I may go for Voyage 34 next... or does someone have a better suggestion?

Adam Jones is GOD 08-02-2005 03:29 PM

Im so in love with In Absentia at the moment. its been on my MP3 player for a record of 7 days now.

Wedding Nails is awesome, but I could say that about any track. That one just sticks in the mind at the moment.

Shadius 08-02-2005 03:30 PM

I think it will be this year. Just not September or October, maybe November? December? Thats what my bets are on.

/goes to play on guitar

clearvision 08-02-2005 03:32 PM

Yeah Refl, i got number 2 on your test after some help from AJIG, yes I'm embarrased :( The first one could be any song by that band :\

ThePatient 08-02-2005 03:35 PM
Tool and TMV would be interesting. Though from what i've heard of TMV live, their singer sucks ass. He spends most of his time dancing around and spinning his mic stand around rather than singing, and when he does he sounds so undisciplined, out of tune and out of key. The rest of the band seem good though.
I've made it my life's mission to spread the word that TMV does not suck live anymore. Cedric used to be really bad, but now they're just as good live as they are in-studio.

Syncratic 08-02-2005 03:35 PM

The Sound of Muzak is my favorite on that album. I love it.

Refl 08-02-2005 03:37 PM

Hmm.

Check out 2112, Hemispheres, A Farewell To Kings, Signals from their earlier work.

Roll The Bones, Counterparts, Test For Echo from their later work.

Also the Different Stages live album is SUBLIME.

If so I love that one too VERY much so, and Trains of course, that song owns.

And Blackest Eyes.

And the rest...

(Shit this thread is fast)

Rush:
Moving Pictures, 2112, Hemispheres are all GREAT albums. My dad was/is a complete Rush lover so we have a huge amount of Rush vinyl

Check out Vapor Trails if you want a more "modern" sound from them.

Recommended songs:
2112
Hemispheres
(Both great long songs)
Red Barchetta
YYZ
Bastille Day

Correctomundo.

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 03:48 PM

Refl, I am a fellow Rush geek

:chug:

Huber 08-02-2005 03:49 PM

Rush is the only other Prog Rock band I like a lot.

Refl 08-02-2005 03:50 PM

More Rush fans is good.

Mr Herb 08-02-2005 03:52 PM

rush pwns.

dam there much to say about tool :(

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 03:53 PM

Hell yeah!

We can form a little Rush cult, and meet together in secret every week in a cave somewhere and discuss the deep hidden meanings of Rush's music while listening to it on an old record player, because we're that tr00.

But then again, we could always not.
:shifty:

EDIT: Yeah, I think it was Jake who said it best a few pages ago "It's more a community thread for people who like Tool"

Shame that there's so little information on them from Blair (****, but in a nice way). The last real clue we got was that MAYBE Buzzo was gonna be on the record, and that was last week or earlier...

Huber 08-02-2005 03:54 PM

That'd be nice, but I think I'd choose the later and stick with the intraweb.

Refl 08-02-2005 03:55 PM

My DT fanboyness has overtaken my Rush geekness these days. :D

Even after Octavarium? (which wasnt THAT bad, but still)

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 03:57 PM

I'm very much liking your taste in music Refl, first Rush now DT too (and Tool obviously)?

Woo!

*is going to see them in London October 24th*
Even after Octavarium? (which wasnt THAT bad, but still)
I liked Octavarium... :upset:

Mr Herb 08-02-2005 03:57 PM

Dt bores me sept for 2 or 3 of their songs

Rothmans 08-02-2005 03:59 PM

Rush use to do it for me but something about them nowadays.

I never really liked DT only glass prison which is still class.

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 04:00 PM

I can understand that, sometimes they do put technicality over songwriting (which is the reason I assume you find them boring) but personally I feel it fits, MOST of the time

Glass Prison seems to be the song that even non DT fans enjoy, and DT fans LOVE TO BITS.
Been playing it non stop on the RG7321 that's in the guitar shop I did work exp in.
