Hahahaha, dude, Gnarls Barkley was seriously the gayest thing I've ever heard. My friend made me download a song and it was god awful. No offense to you or anything, I just think Gnarls Barkley is gay.
best post ever amirite |
Beulah
Clutch Rwake QotSA I like when my band names fit neatly into a block formation. |
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
I'm too poor right now to afford their new album, so I'll just rock out to this this sunny afternoon. |
MF Doom
Frodus Panthers Hot Snakes My friend got me into Frodus, who play "pseudo-emo post-hardcore punk". They're not at all mindblowing but I hear some NoU influences here and there, which is good enough for me. |
Joy Division - Closer
Still don't really like this album very much. It's OK, I guess. |
I'm liking the Kooks more than I expected to.
|
Flaming Lips- "Hit to Death in the Future Head"
disgustingly underrated. why doesn't anybody ever talk about this? it's so cool, you can tell it's the Flaming Lips, but the style is wayyyy out there. like loud, noisy, distorted and fuzzy crazy psychedelic punk, with all the fun melodies that make the Lips who they are. |
Yeah that's my opinion of Closer too.
Is Unknown Pleasures better? |
Modern Life is War - Witness
Probably one of the most emotional albums I've ever listened too. |
Girl Talk
this is the shit |
That album is pretty awesome.
Modern Life is War, that is, though Girl Talk probably is too. |
Pulp - Different Class
Just reminds me I still need to check out This Is Hardcore. |
Just reminds me I still need to check out This Is Hardcore.
Yeah me too. I should have a nice new copy of His 'n' Hers waiting for me when I get home tomorrow. :) |
Chico Buarque - Construção
Very cool album so far, my first listen. Appropriately relaxed and bouncy. Also, I meant to give that Girl Talk thing a listen today while I was at school, but I forgot. Tomorrow then. Edit: Not really bouncy. I'm not sure what the adjective I'm looking for is. |
The Von Bondies - Pawn Shoppe Heart
The Cure - Disintegration |
Elliott Smith
Nick Drake Jeff Buckley Radiohead Neutral Milk Hotel |
Modern Life is War - Witness
Probably one of the most emotional albums I've ever listened too.
Witness is better than My Love, My Way.. but the first 7" owns them both. |
The Phantom Surfers - 18 Deadly Ones
Various Artists - Toes On the Nose And I'm downloading a Ventures album right now that I shall hopefully be digging soon. |
Is Unknown Pleasures better?
Oh my God yes. |
Well I might give either that or Substance a go, before I completely dismiss Joy Division.
|
Go with Unknown Pleasures
|
New Order are just way better. But Substance owns Closer.
My friend got me into Frodus, who play "pseudo-emo post-hardcore punk".
disgustingly underrated. why doesn't anybody ever talk about this?
I do. |
Cut Chemist - Rare Equations
Manic Street Preachers - Forever Delayed |
After about two and a half years, I'm finally starting to dig Surfer Rosa. Everything up to "Where Is My Mind??" is gold so far. I guess some records just eventually click. I think my favourite songs are the shorter ones, like "Broken Face" and "Something Against You".
|
Oingo Boingo - Only a Lad
My favorite new-wave/post-punk album of the 80's. Elfman is a genius. |
My Bloody Valentine - Glider EP
Yo La Tengo - Summer Sun |
Chico Buarque - Construção still. This album is fucking awesome. Creepier sounding than you'd expect. Especially the title track. The one thing I always wonder as I listen to male Brazilian singers, though, is why do they all sing through their nose? It doesn't bother me, but I mean, almost every one of 'em.
|
Sonic Youth - Bad Moon Rising
I'm loving these dark, broken '80s Sonic Youth sounds. It's quite brooding and strong. Excellent record. |
NoMeansNo - Wrong
|
Brian Eno - Ambient 1: Music For Airports
