Shred Danson 07-16-2008 03:38 PM

um, duh?

Angmar 07-16-2008 03:38 PM

Yeah, oh well, I'll be hanging with my cousin and a hot chick for the duration of the show.

Tyler 07-16-2008 03:39 PM

Hardcore dancing is a lot more entertaining to watch than most of the bands that'll you'll be listening to.

Silenius 07-16-2008 03:40 PM

Tyler has a point.

Shred Danson 07-16-2008 03:45 PM

I'm kinda past the point of complaining about it hardcore dancing. From a performing musician's standpoint, I'd rather see SOME movement out there instead of people just looking at you blankly so you know they're enjoying the music and such.

My lady's bringin' me home an Aborted shirt :)

Angmar 07-16-2008 03:46 PM

Haha, this is very true.

I still need to check out Psycroptic.

Pete 07-16-2008 03:47 PM

try to make her find a Goremageddon shirt, theyre awesomely cool

when i saw them i wanted to buy one but they were all out of normal sizes, so i had to get a slaughter and apparatus one, which is still one of my favorite shirts, but the goremageddon one is even hotter

Angmar 07-16-2008 03:52 PM

Are they any good live? Never been too into em.

Pete 07-16-2008 03:52 PM

yes, i was pleasantly surprised, very energetic and more brutal than i imagined

i was pretty drunk though, but i really liked them

Nostalgia 07-16-2008 04:12 PM

Angmar 07-16-2008 04:16 PM
most melo-death is speed metal
what

Pete 07-16-2008 05:21 PM

i'd say stuff like "slaughter of the souls" is more like melodic thrash, what with the double time drums and single string, palm muted riffs

2muchket! 07-16-2008 05:29 PM

Dies Irae 07-16-2008 05:30 PM

Pete 07-16-2008 05:33 PM
pete was serious
so? i mean stevie is right that it doesnt sound like death metal, but i dont think it sounds like speed metal either.

Dies Irae 07-16-2008 05:35 PM

what

pate 07-16-2008 05:36 PM

Speed metal = fast power metal

masscows 07-16-2008 05:39 PM

I thought it was fast traditional metal o_o

it's a dumb genre name though

pate 07-16-2008 05:43 PM

Fast power/trad metal.

Pete 07-16-2008 05:45 PM

well, power metal with 'harsh' vocals is stuff like Wintersun, would that really make AtG fast power metal with harsh vocals =/

genre discussion is fun

Angmar 07-16-2008 05:48 PM

melodic death metal?

Pete 07-16-2008 05:49 PM

whoa

dude, whoa

2muchket! 07-16-2008 05:50 PM
melodic death metal?

whoa man dnt start making sense yo

moltenlava 07-16-2008 06:29 PM

I don't know, but the melodic death genre, to my ears, sounds way too fluckin commercial. All that 'Arch Enemy' and 'In Flames' stuff just doesn't sound right. Mixing Death with the production techniques you would find on a N'Sync recording, just totally kills the illusion these bands are trying to conjure. I like Melody. I like Death Metal. But,the two of 'em don't blend so well. Give me bands like 'Death', 'Atheist', 'Cynic', etc. I'm drawing a blank here. Who else would fit in with these three I just mentioned?

pate 07-16-2008 06:31 PM

Stop putting band names in quotes. please

moltenlava 07-16-2008 06:32 PM

Sure, whatever's gunna make you happy.

Angmar 07-16-2008 07:12 PM

I'm diggin this Psycroptic album, maybe I'll have a band to look forward too heh.

knuckleduster 07-16-2008 07:48 PM

Chalky's pretty entertaining.
