Yeah but thats not on Black Album.

metalcritter666 04-16-2005 01:13 PM

TGTF, TSW, OWAM, WIMR and DTOM are the unsung heroes of the Black Album. They are highly underrated and most of 'em rarely get played live.

Wherever I may Roam is pretty widely known, but other than that, those songs arent very known.

Abbreviations. But yea, I think wherever I may roam is known. Not as much as enter sandman, but still it's not unknown. And they play it on almost every concert.

Yes, most people here do know Roam, but it never gets any airplay on TV or radio.

Yeah, but u cant expect old Metallica to. U never hear Hit the Lights on the radio, but its not like unkown.

Whale and Wasp 04-16-2005 01:41 PM
Elaborate on that. I dont know what the "demo of one" is.
the song "one", sorry i didnt make it clear

theunluckyone 04-16-2005 01:42 PM

I'm just getting in to Metallica and i don't know which album to get. Any ideas?

metalcritter666 04-16-2005 01:43 PM
Yeah, but u cant expect old Metallica to. U never hear Hit the Lights on the radio, but its not like unkown.
But you'd expect Roam to recieve at least A LITTLE airplay, after all it was released as a single and has its own video. I've seen: Sandman, One, Harvester, Sad But True, Unforgiven, Unforgiven II, Whiskey, Turn The Page, FtB, Anger, NEM, Mama Said, Frantic, Unnamed, Memory, even Die, Die My Darling played on music channels, but not Roam.

I agree with that, but get them in this order. (this isnt my favorite order just the best way to get into them)

Master of Puppets
Ride the Lightning
And Justice for All
Kill Em All
Metallica/Black Album

And that reminds me, who plays the sitar in roam?

Or you could get Live $hit: Binge And Purge. In essence it is a greatest hits collection for the first five albums.......

I think James played the sitar, I'm not sure. It's not credited to anyone else so my guess is het...

Yeah, and you double posted.
Wow, our radio stations play 'Enter Sandman' about once a year...

I think james plays it on the record and on the live shows they geta tape to play it. On S&M, Kirk plays the intro with a sitar :thumb:

They also had a tape for the intro to Blackened, ...And Justice For All and the prayer bit of Sandman.

...And justice for all is their best work imo. Then I'd go for Master of puppets, Ride the lightning, kill em all, and black album.

Definately. Kirk's guitar work was at it's zenith on Justice, as was Lars' drumming.

50% of all the threads here are about metallica, there needs to be a more diverse threads topic. Metallica is a good band, but they are overated on mxtabs

 half the threads. There are hardly ever Metallica threads because this is always in use

misunderstood 04-16-2005 02:45 PM

Have any of you heard the Bluegrass tribute to Metallica? Heh, it's quite interesting. Not sure if this has been talked about before in here or not. I searched the thread but found nothing. Anyway, I apologize in advance if this is an old topic.

There are very few Metallica threads because tr00 fans like us post in here a lot to keep it going and that's the way it should be.

Ah, MXican, I see you have changed your usertitle like mine...:thumb:

They should just play the intro to and justice for all. That is one of my favorite intros of all time

stop trying to advertise the trend. If the trend is to catch on it has to catch on naturally

Yes, it is quite easy to play on guitar.
MXican, I am not advertising the trend.

Yeah im surprised they dont, its not like an effect or anything, and its one of the first things i ever learned, its really easy.

EDIT: Interesting fact. When Kirk first joined Exodus he had only been playing guitar for like 3 1/2 years.

Yeah, I noticed that, he could play solos really well and everything. Just goes to show all the Kirk naysayers how great he really is. I feel Kirk has a lot of potential guitar-playing wise, more than we have ever seen, that he has not showed yet.

Im hoping its gonna have thrassh influnces, and solos. Hopefully Rob will write some bass that we havent heard since cliff, or never even heard at all. I think that after they came out with St. Anger and seeing the negative response they got from the fans that have always been there, even through load, reload and napster, that they will want to change there style and make something to satisfy every1.

Definately, Metallica are not stupid. They've done too much of that please ourselves only bull, they could make great music which everyone of us would appreciate and enjoy it. I feel Rob will have a positive impact on the band also with his dexterous playing superior to that of Bob and Jason and rival to Cliff's. On a side note, who does backing vocals in 'The Unnamed Feeling'?

Rasta Rocker 04-16-2005 04:23 PM

A new thrash cd would be most righteous, but I don't htink it would be anything like the first four:(
