Maybe because of the band photos on the album art?
Right. As the person before me said, the album art has a role in creating these mental visuals. |
Nothing. It's just not the 2nd Opeth album you should get, at all, unless you're some kind of gothenburg fanatic or something then maybe i'd recommend it first.
I still don't "Get" Orchid and half of Morningrise, it's actually totally lacking in any form of energy for me. I hardly get anything out of the music, which is totally weird considering I love gothenburg metal (In Flames and Dark Tranquility). Hearse onwards Opeth is genius though, as are the more clean segments of Moringrise.
I agree, with everything. I do love the acoustic work on Morningrise, though. |
To Bid You Farewell is awesome.
|
I agree.
Seriously, as much as I think their first two releases are weaker, the clean parts on Morningrise gave me full on goosebumps the first few times I listened. No other Opeth album has done it to that degree. |
My favorite album is Morningrise.
|
My favorite song of Morningrise: The night & the silent water.
That part with the arpeggiated C barre chord (I think...:confused;, you know, tthat part with the... the mellow part inbetween. <_<) is amazing. |
Advent is an awsome song
|
Yes, Advent is awsome. Really fun to play aswell. I'm not quite sure which my favorite from the album would be. Probably Black Rose Immortal, but I'm not sure.
|
For me it's probably a tie between Black Rose Immortal and To Bid You Farewell
|
Dare I start a list..?
Eh..why not... Favorite song from each album: Orchid-The Apostle in Triumph Morningrise-To Bid You Farewell My Arms, Your Hearse-When Still Life-The Moor Blackwater Park-The Leper Affinity Deliverance-A Fair Judgement Damnation-In My Time of Need (changes daily) Ghost Reveries-Ghost of Perdition Let the lists begin, haha... |

Orchid-The Apostle in Triumph Morningrise-To Bid You Farewell, Black Rose Immortal My Arms, Your Hearse-Demon of the Fall Still Life-Face Of Melinda Blackwater Park-Blackwater Park, Harvest Deliverance-Deliverance Damnation-Closure Ghost Reveries-Reverie/Harlequin Forest |

NP Iced Earth - Frankenstein |
Go for the original, man. In fact...now that you mention, I think I may as well. I'm missing a hard copy of that one...

"falacious"
is that a real word? it looks like it should be something else. haha totally unrelated i know but im a spelling freak >< |
"falacious"
is that a real word? it looks like it should be something else. haha totally unrelated i know but im a spelling freak ><
A fallacy is an argument based on an incorrect fact or incorrect reasoning. For example, a story in court might be based on evidence which is invalid. Fallacious is the adjective of the word. The meaning has changed a bit over time, and it can be used more generally. |
mmm knew the noun, but not the adjective form.
hokay thanks :] |
^thanks for clearing it up rhcp_pman.
rofl ghettoeddo your probably thinking "fallatio"... i think we all know what that means <.< >.> |
no i wasnt even thinking that.

|
As I've said time and time again.
|
As I've said time and time again.
Well that's certainly not a bad thing. It's a pretty impressive album and it's basically what Orchid was capable of. |
