PaulSimonon 10-23-2004 09:16 AM
What currency? Ibanez GSR200 should do just fine, that's the one I started with.
Just make sure the saddles are solid, my G saddle is a bit messed up at the moment.

gaslight 10-23-2004 09:20 AM

As long as you get the shop to check it out for you, and check the wiring, before you buy it, you'll be sweet.

PaulSimonon 10-23-2004 09:22 AM

Yup.

Left Shoe 10-23-2004 09:23 AM

im going through my harddrive listening to all of the music i used to listen to , mmmm nostalgia trip

PaulSimonon 10-23-2004 09:26 AM

I did that once, and I got scared. The remnants of my rap days were still there. THe computer is rather dead now.... I'm safe....

gaslight 10-23-2004 09:37 AM

Everyone should download Mars by Soulfly, it's got a sweet little bass solo in it.

It's on my Soulseek if you want it, I am "gaslight" there too.

Foxfire 10-23-2004 09:53 AM

Hm, I think I might pick me up a Morley Dual Bass Wah this weekend.

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 09:53 AM

Hey everyone, whats up.

PaulSimonon 10-23-2004 09:54 AM

Hey Funk!

Left Shoe 10-23-2004 10:00 AM

im having another conklin craving :)

Spaceman Spiff 10-23-2004 10:00 AM

i never thought it would be good, but i watched Van Helsing, and it was bad.
what a terrible script, it was so incredibly full of cheese.

Foxfire 10-23-2004 10:01 AM

FUNK, you think I could get an Avatar 2x12 plus one of those cheapass Ashdown MAG heads for less than 450 off of Dave?

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 10:03 AM

Probly Fox, when I ordered my 410s Dave seemed pretty cool, and when I asked him a bout the ashdown heads the prices he gave me were really good (**** i wish my memeory was better) so I would have to say yes. Dave is really cool and gave me great service, and even offeren to replace one of my cabs when it was lost in the mail, free of charge. Go Avatar.

Foxfire 10-23-2004 10:05 AM

Okay.

I'm thinking of getting a Avatar 2x12 and one of the 300 watt Ashdown heads, as I need a new amp and I'd like to start building my Avatar stack.

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 10:06 AM

The 212 is definetly the way to go.

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 10:07 AM
im having another conklin craving :)
Same here, I deposited my pay check in my bank last night and noticed i could easily purchase a BDGT-7.

Foxfire 10-23-2004 10:07 AM

I was thinking of 2x12 and the newest 2x10 (2x10 Pro); was considering a 4x10, but damn, the newest ones weigh 95~ pounds. You said you got a 4x10 from Avatar, yes? How is it? And is it their 4x10 Delta, or one of the newer ones?

Left Shoe 10-23-2004 10:10 AM
Same here, I deposited my pay check in my bank last night and noticed i could easily purchase a BDGT-7.
3 weeks till i get out of marching band get a job and then start saving up , till then im broke.

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 10:10 AM

I have 2 410 Deltas, but Im thinking of selling those and getting a pair of Pros. The wight isnt too bad if you spend the extra $20 to get a set of casters. The Avatar are amzingy easliy the best deal in the business, the cabs are built likr bomb shelters and the Eminence speakers sound amazing and that Foster horn is unbelivable.

Left Shoe 10-23-2004 10:11 AM

im thinking of working in a guitar shop , do you think i coudl convince them to order my bass for me and get a discount?

Foxfire 10-23-2004 10:11 AM

Well the thing is that where I keep all my stuff is upstairs in my house...our basement is really dirty and it floods easy. :(

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 10:13 AM

If you get somene to help you its nothing, gott love those recessed metal handles.

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 10:14 AM
im thinking of working in a guitar shop , do you think i coudl convince them to order my bass for me and get a discount?
Maybe when you work there but wait till you're around for a few weeks so they dont think you got the job just for the discount.

Left Shoe 10-23-2004 10:16 AM
Maybe when you work there but wait till you're around for a few weeks so they dont think you got the job just for the discount.
good point , we dont have any guitar centers around here , so its like meh.

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 10:18 AM

Look for a smaller privatley owned guitar shop, they pay might not be as much but in the long run will work out better.

Foxfire 10-23-2004 10:20 AM

Then maybe I'll go for a 4x10 Pro...of course, I'm going to stay with just the 2x12 for a while. ;p

Left Shoe 10-23-2004 10:20 AM
Look for a smaller privatley owned guitar shop, they pay might not be as much but in the long run will work out better.
how so

gaslight 10-23-2004 10:23 AM

I'd rather work at a local store too, I don't know why, I just really like the environment at my local place.

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 10:24 AM

Different attitude, GC is a big company, do you think they care about your job or how much you know about instruments, of course not. If you ask them for a discount they'll probly say your fired. They care about the bottom line. Same as Same Ash.

PaulSimonon 10-23-2004 10:27 AM

My local store gives everyone who takes lessons discounts, and they give the employees rock bottom prices.... If only I could work there....

gaslight 10-23-2004 10:28 AM

Yeah man, 15% discount for me for being a student at my local place, and they give me an extra discount on top of that because I know them and have been going there nearly 4 years. In return I buy all my stuff exclusively there and tell all my friends to shop there.

FUNKNBASS 10-23-2004 10:30 AM

At my local shop the guy who owns the place lest me setup the new basses that come in, even before thier supposed to be put on the shelves, including amps as well, I can also get the factory price.

Left Shoe 10-23-2004 10:33 AM

alright , so i found bdgt on musiciansfirnd for 1499. im estimating 6 dollars an hour so with the math working.....
6 DPH (dollars per hour) = 250 hours
7 = 215 hours
8= 187 hours.

i dont expect to make more than 8 dollars an hour since im just starting so meh , im willing to work for it.
so that on top of employee discount shudlnt be too bad.
