I remember this game called Turok.

It was supposed to involve the slaying of prehistoric creatures;
when in fact the whole game was just a man in a loin clothe walking around in an enveloping dense fog.

That was a disappointment.

Glitterati 05-25-2008 12:46 AM

Not to mention a turn-on.

except some levels were in the past, some were in the present, and some were in the future...

Jaundice 05-25-2008 12:49 AM

I didn't get that far
I couldn't get out of the fog so I just stopped playing.

And there was a wild boar and a bridge and that's all I remember.

Glitterati 05-25-2008 12:52 AM

It reminded me of this really bad-quality Jurassic Park game that came after the first movie. Like, really bad quality, like, completely cash-in on the movie franchise.

Txus 05-25-2008 12:52 AM

the new indiana jones was bad :(

beans 05-25-2008 12:52 AM

really?
i was really hoping it wasnt going to be bad
that bums me out for sure :(

but it wasnt at all like that

just a couple of levels involved prehistoric-dinosauric-erotisauric settings

Jaundice 05-25-2008 12:54 AM

I don't know why I'm even curious, but
what did the other levels involve?

Txus 05-25-2008 12:56 AM

I dont know man, a lot of people liked the movie. I didn't enjoyed it very much, and I'm a massive fan. I think that's the problem, though, it was wayyyyy over the top, i know its indiana jones, but come on!

I would give the movie a 5 out of 10.

dinosaurxbrocore 05-25-2008 12:56 AM

monkeys, tree-top villages, dudes with gats, robots with lasers & a river banked by mettle etc.

Jaundice 05-25-2008 12:58 AM

Not the 64 version, though, huh?

Tyler 05-25-2008 12:59 AM

Wow, awful night. My friend bails as we're all going into the club but his cousin comes in. Turns out the bar really, really sucks. But I can't leave, because his cousin cant get home (to my friend's place, we live near each other). So I spent most of the night drinking by myself, not wanting to dance with a bunch of european dudes (it was a horrible bar), and then when we try to leave, his cousin decides to pick fights. On our walk to the Subway she verbally abused a dozen people, tried to pee on the street, tried to steal a padlocked bike. Oh, but the best part? She punched a random guy in the face. And of course, me, being the guy, I had to settle it. FUN!

dinosaurxbrocore 05-25-2008 12:59 AM

n64 version yeah

just turok not turok 2

im a total video game nerd lol

edit: tyler, i seriously lol'ed at "she punched a dude in the face"

Tyler 05-25-2008 01:01 AM

I lol'd too, because the guy she clocked was a Scottish tourist. He was really unimpressed. I seriously broke up at least four fights, the girl is crazy.

that might be a reason why
but im not sure, ill probably still go see it
i heard one other person say they didnt like it either, so who knows...

Jaundice 05-25-2008 01:03 AM

Sounds like a pretty positive experience, in my opinion. Maybe a 6 out of 10.

But then again I wasn't there.

Tyler's night it is I'm referring to.

Steerpike 05-25-2008 01:04 AM

I have to vent for a second.

I now appreciate moderators more than ever. Last year, I was made one for a magicians' forum. You would not believe the sheer volume of hate mail I've been recieving! Free speech this, nazi that. I've been compared to Joseph Stalin, George W Bush, and Criss Angel (not in a good way). I've had private correspondence posted in public by vindictive individuals, been petitioned to have my title taken away several times, and am now becoming the poster-boy for hatred directed at that particular website (mostly by people I banned for breaking the rules).

I never realized this job was so much like babysitting.

lol wow that sucks dude :/

Tyler 05-25-2008 01:10 AM

It was a horrible night. And because I spent so much time drinking alone (I was on a couch. People kept refiling my beer, of course I was going to keep doing it) a bunch of HILARIOUS guys tried to poke fun at me. My favourite was:

"do you have a girlfriend"
I said no.
"When's the last time you had a girlfriend"
I said a while ago
"Do you still get sad on your anniversary"

LOLOL HILARIOUS. I'M NOT HAVING FUN AT A SHITTY FRAT BAR I MUST BE SAD ABOUT A BREAK UP LOL.

beans 05-25-2008 01:11 AM

what dicks

Tyler 05-25-2008 01:12 AM

Whatever, their girlfriends were hideous and the two dudes were totally in love with each other. I don't mind being the victim if it'll bring two closeted hearts together.

beans 05-25-2008 01:15 AM

 good way to look at it

dinosaurxbrocore 05-25-2008 01:16 AM

lol you shouldve told them you were gay

Tyler 05-25-2008 01:16 AM

Yeah I didn't care, I was getting free (albeit flat and watered down) beer all night. I would have rather left, but I'm not a prick and I had to make sure my friend's cousin got home alright because she's from out of town/insane. So whatever, I left knowing that I got drunk but only spent 10 dollars, and I got to watch a 5'1 blonde girl punch a giant scottish guy in the face.
lol you shouldve told them you were gay
Nah, that wouldn't have gone over well around a bunch of homophobic, crotch-grabbing frat-jocks.

beans 05-25-2008 01:18 AM
and I got to watch a 5'1 blonde girl punch a giant scottish guy in the face.
 i would've paid to see that

Jaundice 05-25-2008 01:19 AM

This is shamefully irrelevant, but Wikipedia articles about pornography in Japanese culture are so interesting.
Anyways I'm going to pass out now, my buzz has almost totally worn off and now i'm just exhausted.

Poce thread.

have a better night man
Yeah I didn't care, I was getting free (albeit flat and watered down) beer all night.
That's a good thing? Drinking flat, watery beer is like pancakes without syrup. What's the point?
Nah, that wouldn't have gone over well around a bunch of homophobic, crotch-grabbing frat-jocks.
I think frat boys are the only ones who aren't cognizant of the correllation between homoerotica and their little house parties.
