I bought Lateralus without ever hearing a single second of Tool. I chose it because it was the only Tool album that didn't have a EXPLICIT CONTENT sticker attached to it.

/was with his grandparents

One of the better musical choices I've made throughout the years. :p

TheSubtleArts 08-01-2005 09:37 PM

most people who start to get into a band, get into them because of the latest stuff by them i think. i started with Lateralus also.

Mr Herb 08-01-2005 09:37 PM

indeed lol. I choose laterlaus after just hearing 30 seconds from each song, i thought it was boring judging from what I heard but I still baught it:)

Kage 08-01-2005 09:37 PM

My first was Undertow, and I didn't know anything about Tool at the time. I was quite disapointed with it.

Mr Herb 08-01-2005 09:43 PM

Actually! now that ikremeber my first was undertow too! dam thats a heck of an album, it was like 2 years I ago, it took me a year and a half to get laterlus wow

Trintar_VIII 08-01-2005 09:45 PM

Here it is, if anyone wants it...music video of Schism.

hxxp://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3C309UT6EXERH3BRTR98GICITR

Edit: My first album was Lateralus. I had heard about Tool having a good drummer so I downloaded Parabola. I liked it so much because it didn't sound like anything else I had listened to. So the next time I was at a store, I bought Lateralus - not because of Parabola, but because it was the only Tool album there. I would have just as quickly bought any others, and I did soon after. Best money I've spent on CDs to date.

Mr Herb 08-01-2005 10:13 PM

wow schism vid is very. . .weird, mcuh like all tool videos,
I wonder what the next vid will be like.

thx for the upload

Dried Muffin Remnants 08-01-2005 10:18 PM

Aenima.

Huber 08-01-2005 10:20 PM

My first was Lateralus. It didn't excite me very much until after I'd listened to Ænima a few times then Lateralus again.

Mr Herb 08-01-2005 10:26 PM

incubus will be on leno very soon, everyone tune in!

Contact a mod and ask him to ban you... k?

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-01-2005 10:33 PM

83% on the download, Kage. :p

I remember the first time I listened to Ænima quite vividly. I was driving home from whereever I had purchased it, and I actually didn't think it was very good.

Now it's one of my favorite albums.

Darkness 08-01-2005 10:36 PM

I bought them all backwards, and I prefer them all backwards. ( Lateralus > Ænema > Undertow > Opaite) But I love them all.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-01-2005 10:50 PM

I agree with that, except I'd rather listen to Opiate.

Not sure where Salival would go. Probably my least favorite, due to the excess of non-music. :p

Same in every way.

I listened to Aenima today, and realized just how awesome Jimmy is.

Expresso 08-01-2005 11:17 PM

I think we should keep the covers going despite the fact that the deadline is done.

Salivals ok, but I don't really consider it an album. I could listen to Opiate any time, where as I have to be in a mood for Undertow and Ænema. I can also listen to Lateralus anytime...

Its been so long since I've listened to those cds... :upset:

I believe the deadline is up to Jake...

I could listen to Lateralus anytime, I only bought it yestaday, and I've listened to it 3 times through already

Refl 08-02-2005 08:30 AM

If anyone wants it I can upload the TALES FROM THE DARK SIDE E.P.

It's a live e.p. from around 93-94. Some good stuff on there.

I don't know if you all might have it already.

Jimmy has to be the worst real song on that album for me. That and Hooker with a Penis are the only one's i'd skip if i'm not in the mood on Ænima.

Syncratic 08-02-2005 08:56 AM

Does anybody have the Tool/Rage Against the Machine collaboration 'Revolution'? I've been asking but nobody has it.

On the subject of collabos.....with whom would you like to see Tool collaborate with?

In my opinion, Tool and The Mars Volta would be interesting.

kurrpt 08-02-2005 08:57 AM

hello Fellow TOoL fans....

so that album in due next month right?

Still not sure, dude, still not sure......

Shadius 08-02-2005 08:59 AM

I heard a very low quality live version of it. I wasn't too impressed, but i'd have to hear a better quality version.

Tool and TMV would be interesting. Though from what i've heard of TMV live, their singer sucks ass. He spends most of his time dancing around and spinning his mic stand around rather than singing, and when he does he sounds so undisciplined, out of tune and out of key. The rest of the band seem good though.

I'd like to see Tool and Radiohead together, but that would never happen.
