Post it on soundclick or D music or whatever, and then make a voting thread with a poll?

ScorpSath 10-10-2004 05:36 PM

Should I just post my soundclick and then you can add yours?

PaulSimonon 10-10-2004 05:38 PM

Post when you're done, I'll find and give you a link to mine, but I'm too lazy at the moment.

You are answering your own question. Political correctness is essentially when you think all generalizations are bad, and usually try to ignore any differences between different, individual human beings. As you might guess, most politically correct people either end up being hated, or they move to Massachusetts, where they usually congregate.

Saying most punk bassists play root notes isn't offensive, or misleading, because, indeed, most punk bassists play root notes.

Some generalizations are offensive, and false, like blonds being dumb would be, but most generalizations aren't...
Usually they become generalizations for a reason, because usually there are alot of examples in the group that adhere to those generalizations:

-The power cords on most electric pencil sharpeners are black.
-Most dogs like to chase squirrels.
-Most houses in urban areas cost more than houses in rural areas.
-Most 18 wheeler trucks weigh more than a toyota camry.
-Most punk bassists play mostly root notes.
^ Are any of these generalizations offensive to anyone? No
Are any of these generalizations misleading? No
Are any of these generalizations "bad"? No.

You make a generalization in many of your posts that Wals are great basses. I bet you've never even played one, and if you have, it couldn't have been longer than for an hour or so. How dare you make a generalization that they are great basses? Even if you owned every single model, and found them all great to play, you shouldn't say that Wal basses are great, because generalizations are bad.
Oh, and by the way, in your first sentence, you made a generalization in saying that generalizations are bad, no matter what way you put it.

Have a nice day.[/QUOTE]
