The "Single" is pretty good i must say.....i like it :) .

Matter 09-24-2005 08:48 PM

lol!!! Man thats good stuff! The singer has the maynard nasal talk down.

Static 09-24-2005 08:50 PM

It's amazing how much he sounds like Maynard

Daven 09-24-2005 08:51 PM

Great stuff man, thanks a lot. I really like it, but Carey's drumming is more simple than usually.

Futuro 09-24-2005 08:52 PM
The "new single" is still better than anything any of you will ever produce.
apparently you never heard my version of My chemical romance done by mouth

Mr Herb 09-24-2005 09:39 PM

LOLOL very funny. They mock maynards screaming. Tool sucks dammit, they take a whole lifetime to make a ****ing cd

I have. Its the shizznit.

By the way, I've fallen in love with The Dillinger Escape Plan. I can't decide what cd to get by them. Help!(for some reason, I think I'll get suggestions for Irony is a Dead Scene the most).

Well, yeah, Irony Is A Dead Scene is my favorite by them, but having Mike Patton puts it at an unfair advantage. Not counting that, I'd say definetly get Miss Machine, that is a grrrrrrrrrrrrreat cd.

Static 09-24-2005 10:51 PM

I don't understand the hype about DEP. Anyone care to educate me?

Dude3 09-24-2005 10:54 PM

I used to think they were crap, but after some more listens I became addicted. Namely, "Baby's First Coffin".

I seriuosly need to check out Patton's work with them though. I love DEP's singer already, and I'm anxious to hear how much Patton can possibly. be better.

I think their current singer's screams are so.....emotional?? Meh, idk. They just seem great when you want to yell for the hell of it. Ex. That built-up scream in Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants. So pain relieving.
I don't understand the hype about DEP. Anyone care to educate me?
For me, it's the manifestation of finding beauty in chaos... The more you listen to their songs, the more you get!.. I mean, Sugar coated sour, is, after you dig through the layers of pure chaos, just a kickass song!

denboy 09-25-2005 11:05 AM

Exactly!.. Hehe, the first 3-4 times I listened to calculating infinity, it was more because of the novelty value of the album.. Then after the fourth listen, I actually started bobbing my head to 43%.. And the song actually managed to get stuck in my head!.. I would never have thought that it was actually gonna end up being catchy music!

Moses 09-25-2005 11:14 AM

The first time I heard them I loved it. It was just the best timing. Headbangers Ball actually introduced me to DEP and after Panasonic Youth was over I was like, "that was ****ing awesome!!" It was also kind of wierd because I never liked those kinds of vocals but musically it just had me with my jaw to the floor so I really didn't care.

The next time I found my self in love with DEP was listening to When Good Dogs Do Bad Things for the first time and I was just captivated by the ambience in the middle section after all the chaos going on in the beginning.

Mr Herb 09-25-2005 11:59 AM

Oh, how I despise Coldplay.

Sleeper 09-25-2005 12:17 PM

Coldplay are a big rip off of Radiohead.

Kage 09-25-2005 12:19 PM

I like Coldplay. I only listen to them occaisonally but they're not bad at all.

denboy 09-25-2005 12:20 PM

Shiver is an ace song

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-25-2005 01:12 PM

I honestly don't hear much of a resemblance between Coldplay and Radiohead. Then again, I'm not exactly a big Radiohead fan either, so I don't have a lot of songs to judge from. Anyone want to make some direct song to song comparisons for me?

Thor 09-25-2005 01:13 PM

Last time I checked, this was a Tool thread, not Radiohead or Coldplay.

Kage 09-25-2005 01:13 PM

I don't see the Radiohead/Coldplay connection either. Coldplay is a lot more straight-forward than Radiohead is, for one, and they don't sound all that alike. To the untrained ear, I could see one mistaking Muse for Radiohead, though.

Uh, yeah, yuk yuk, last time I checked, GET THE FUCK OUT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!

 .....and IMO Radiohead are a lot better than Coldplay in a lot fo senses.

Kage 09-25-2005 01:19 PM

Oh, they most definately are miles above Coldplay in most aspects.

repcak 09-25-2005 01:25 PM

i don't like coldplay ( i hate the singer) and some years ago i listened to radiohead, but i stopped for some reason and i don't want to hear them anymore.

clearvision 09-25-2005 01:34 PM

Coldplay should have given up after Parachutes. They will never top Shiver.

denboy 09-25-2005 01:52 PM

I disagree, I'm glad they did A rush of blood.. There isn't any songs that tops Shiver, but the overall song quality is alot better imo

Dried Muffin Remnants 09-25-2005 02:20 PM
Last time I checked, this was a Tool thread, not Radiohead or Coldplay.
Actually it's a community of Tool fans talking about the music they like....which could include Radiohead or (meh) Coldplay.

Sleeper 09-25-2005 02:27 PM

Well there isn't anything more we can talk about Tool, so i encourage discussion about other bands.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-25-2005 02:38 PM

Hey, hows Lateralus coming, Remedy?

EDIT: Can anyone help me out with getting links into my myspace? Like, what's the code for it? I'm trying to get my Audioscrobbler linked, but I can't figured out the tag. :(

Sleeper 09-25-2005 03:26 PM

I can prolly record it tonight, if not tomorrow.

I have no idea about how to do all that, but link me to your myspace anyway.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-25-2005 03:38 PM

Try that. It ought to work. It's pretty sparse. Do you have myspace?

If anyone has myspace, zomg post it.

Kage 09-25-2005 03:40 PM

It depends on what you mean by having one. I signed up for an account so I could enter some contest, and I entered in all my interests and all that jazz, but do I keep a blog or have any pictures on there? Nah.

Hey, I didn't know you were 19 years old and looked like a Southpark character!

Uh, I'm not 19. I just saw that. I should edit that, huh? :p

I don't have a blog either, but I like to stalk people. :)
