that's not the way shipping works. The package gets sent to a distribution center (there's a lot in, say, Kentucky, being the center of population) and then sent toward the destination. Even though it's 20 minutes from the sender to you, the package still needs to go to the distribution center and back. It's kind of ridiculous, but that's how it works. Processing is a shitton easier on the companies.

It got shipped from the other side of Canada, probably through my town, and then was in transit from there.

I order stuff from a music shop 45 minutes away, and it takes 4 days to get here. And it passes through my town twice before it stops at my door.


I went to check, and there was a "delivery notice" in there, so I can go pick it up from the post office tomorrow after 1. Kind of disappointed, normally they put it in a bigger box and put the key to that box in my box, being that it's just a book and not a huge parcel. Oh well.
