Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2007 06:47 PM

Not that fishy, Isis and Boris toured together.

For a week.

Maybe you're right, haha

The Antique 07-10-2007 06:50 PM

Isis and Boringis

Kage 07-10-2007 06:52 PM

Damn, Kayo Dot needed to get a keyboard player for The Antique live.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2007 06:53 PM

Shut the **** up noob, 07ers can't have opinions on what real music is.

Hey where did you find The Antique Live?

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 07:07 PM

He has connections.

EDIT: I thought you were speaking to Jared, Jake.

:|

Kage 07-10-2007 07:07 PM

Yes, I do.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2007 07:09 PM

I was speaking to Jared.

And sweet link.

The Antique 07-10-2007 07:09 PM

Kayo Dot needs to get a giant to play gong during Kittysong.

The Antique 07-10-2007 07:09 PM

Jake the full WMBR bootleg is up on my blog.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2007 07:10 PM

Oh yeah, Kittysong is one of my favorites.

(Are we still playing the Jimbo game? I've never even heard of it)

K I'll get that and probably some more stuff offa there soon. That I Have Eaten the City sounds top notch.

Kage 07-10-2007 07:11 PM

Seriously, though, the end of Antique is so boring sans piano.

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 07:12 PM

I'd visit your site more if you used a real uploading service, like mediafire.

uh. fuck you.

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 07:13 PM

Kayo Dot is boring in general.

Kage 07-10-2007 07:14 PM

Uh, what's good about it?

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 07:17 PM
Kayo Dot is boring in general.
Dude, they are the only interesting band you've listened to in a while, shut up.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2007 07:21 PM

Actually I think the previous piano part is great on this version. More focus on the trumpet and silly vocals.

Kage 07-10-2007 07:23 PM

The silly vocals sound stupid without the piano to drown them out.

It's a minimalist section by necessity rather than by choice, which automatically makes it kind of suck.

The Antique 07-10-2007 07:30 PM

Sounds fine. They replace the piano with a trumpet solo anyways.

The Antique 07-10-2007 07:30 PM

btw tojes. why you banning me?

Kage 07-10-2007 07:31 PM

Nah, even Toby was sick of having to do that shit live, which is why there's no/very little keyboard on Dowsing which is clearly a stripped down album for live playing.

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 07:33 PM

I don't think I can ban. :(

What did you do?

EDIT: Oh right the spam.

I can ask for an unban whatever

The Antique 07-10-2007 07:41 PM

Dude. Someone else told me it was you?

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 07:42 PM

Yeah you're unbanned now anyway. :)

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2007 11:02 PM

Yeah I really like the trumpet solo and the guitar comping definitely shows a different side to that part of the song. On the studio version, it sort of reminded me of an epic prog interlude, the live version seems much more Kayo Dot.

Kage 07-10-2007 11:59 PM

I can't wait for the new record.

pixiesfanyo 07-11-2007 12:06 AM

Heard muffins are making an apperance.

Kage 07-11-2007 12:07 AM

That makes sense.

pixiesfanyo 07-11-2007 12:07 AM

mufin pickin up lance

bwnstl 07-11-2007 08:13 PM

Ok, after re-listening to Kayo Dot, I've decided that Choirs of the Eye is fantastic, the first half of Dowsing... is great, and everything after _ On Limpid Form blows nuts (including their part of the split with Bloody Panda). Since when did they become a drone band, anyways? Ok nevermind, the last 3 minutes of "Don't Touch Dead Animals" is at least interesting.....so great, less than 30% of the song is worthwhile. I don't like the direction they're taking. :(

TojesDolan 07-11-2007 08:57 PM

uh

Dowsing anemone is great

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-11-2007 09:11 PM

lol

TojesDolan 07-11-2007 09:13 PM

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-11-2007 09:16 PM

Sorry, Ray did it to pixies and it was a major pwn.

However, I do quite agree with you.

TojesDolan 07-11-2007 09:23 PM

I know that was the best own in quite a while.

pixiesfanyo 07-11-2007 09:29 PM

Yeah, I actually contemplated leaving the site.

TojesDolan 07-11-2007 09:31 PM

Oh, please don't!

:(

Kage 07-11-2007 10:08 PM

lately I've become really enamored with Dowsing, much more than I ever had been. To me it takes even longer than Choirs of the Eye to really get into, but it's a great album through and through.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-11-2007 10:46 PM

yeah, I read an interview where Toby was like 'all these faggots think that dowsing is harder to get into than choirs of the eye, which is odd because it was a live performance whereas choirs had more overdubs' or something like that.

I agree with you Kage. hell, I'm still getting more and more into all kayo dot stuff, but dowsing seems like the hardest album to enjoy.

pixiesfanyo 07-11-2007 10:49 PM

Dowsing is probably my preferred Kayo Dot. So, brilliant and beautiful.
