Not that fishy, Isis and Boris toured together.
For a week. Maybe you're right, haha |
Isis and Boringis

Damn, Kayo Dot needed to get a keyboard player for The Antique live.
|
Shut the **** up noob, 07ers can't have opinions on what real music is.
Hey where did you find The Antique Live? |
He has connections.
EDIT: I thought you were speaking to Jared, Jake. :| |
Yes, I do.

I was speaking to Jared.
And sweet link. |
Kayo Dot needs to get a giant to play gong during Kittysong.
|
Jake the full WMBR bootleg is up on my blog.

Oh yeah, Kittysong is one of my favorites.
(Are we still playing the Jimbo game? I've never even heard of it) K I'll get that and probably some more stuff offa there soon. That I Have Eaten the City sounds top notch. |
Seriously, though, the end of Antique is so boring sans piano.
|
I'd visit your site more if you used a real uploading service, like mediafire.

uh. fuck you. |
Kayo Dot is boring in general.
|
Uh, what's good about it?
|

Dude, they are the only interesting band you've listened to in a while, shut up. |
Actually I think the previous piano part is great on this version. More focus on the trumpet and silly vocals.
|
The silly vocals sound stupid without the piano to drown them out.
It's a minimalist section by necessity rather than by choice, which automatically makes it kind of suck. |
Sounds fine. They replace the piano with a trumpet solo anyways.
|
btw tojes. why you banning me?
|
Nah, even Toby was sick of having to do that shit live, which is why there's no/very little keyboard on Dowsing which is clearly a stripped down album for live playing.
|
I don't think I can ban. :(
What did you do? EDIT: Oh right the spam. I can ask for an unban whatever |
Dude. Someone else told me it was you?
|
Yeah you're unbanned now anyway. :)
|
Yeah I really like the trumpet solo and the guitar comping definitely shows a different side to that part of the song. On the studio version, it sort of reminded me of an epic prog interlude, the live version seems much more Kayo Dot.
|
I can't wait for the new record.
|
Heard muffins are making an apperance.
|
That makes sense.
|
mufin pickin up lance

Ok, after re-listening to Kayo Dot, I've decided that Choirs of the Eye is fantastic, the first half of Dowsing... is great, and everything after _ On Limpid Form blows nuts (including their part of the split with Bloody Panda). Since when did they become a drone band, anyways? Ok nevermind, the last 3 minutes of "Don't Touch Dead Animals" is at least interesting.....so great, less than 30% of the song is worthwhile. I don't like the direction they're taking. :(
|
uh
Dowsing anemone is great |

lol |
|
Sorry, Ray did it to pixies and it was a major pwn.
However, I do quite agree with you. |
I know that was the best own in quite a while.
|
Yeah, I actually contemplated leaving the site.
|
Oh, please don't!
:( |
lately I've become really enamored with Dowsing, much more than I ever had been. To me it takes even longer than Choirs of the Eye to really get into, but it's a great album through and through.
|
yeah, I read an interview where Toby was like 'all these faggots think that dowsing is harder to get into than choirs of the eye, which is odd because it was a live performance whereas choirs had more overdubs' or something like that.
I agree with you Kage. hell, I'm still getting more and more into all kayo dot stuff, but dowsing seems like the hardest album to enjoy. |
Dowsing is probably my preferred Kayo Dot. So, brilliant and beautiful.
