i recently purchased neurosis's eye of every storm, which i think at the moment is my favourite album. Which album do any of you think i should get next?
I've heard people say they have got progressively better all the way up to 'The Eye of Every Storm'. It may be best to work back chronologically through there releases.

I can't help any more than that though sorry. 'The Eye of Every Storm' is such a bad *** album though.

Can someone recommend me an album which I will love? I'm willing to give any genre/band a try.

Bodom wouldn't appeal to hardcore metalcore fans, unless they were willing to try other stuff...

MAthiAS 06-22-2005 07:56 PM

Even so, that's not what this thread is for.

Are Cacophony's albums worth buying? I'm a big fan of Marty, but haven't heard Becker.
Also, what about Friedman's solo releases?

I tried but it isn't working. It downloads, but it won't play. I'll probably end up buying the album anyway. I looked at tabs for some of the songs and they look extremely technical. Thanks anyway though. It's the thought that counts.

You have to download it, then open the file. It doesn't play automatically.

apocalypse13 06-23-2005 08:53 PM

I know it doesn't play by itself. The file won't open up to play, I know where the file is and how to open it, the players just won't play it.

With both bands you must get albums!!

Tool-Aenema or Lateralus first, then Opiate and Undertow-all must owns IMO

Dream Theatre-start with Scenes form a Memory or Awake or Images and Words or Change of Seasons

As for songs if you're too lazy to buy albums...

Tool-Stinkfist, Aenema, Hooker With a *****, The Grudge, Lateralus, Prison Sex, Sober, Undertow...just buy any album, you can't go wrong

DT-Learning to Live, Voices, Change of Seasons, Meteropolus (sp?)Pt.1, Overture 1928, The Dance of Eternity, ect, ect

Don't know the 'best' Carcass album cuz I only have Heartwork but thats an amazing piece of work.

I just heard In the court of the Crimson King by King Crimson. Could someone recomend me some other stuff by them.

Metallica and Slayer are pretty much the only speed/thrash bands I listen to. I have tried to get into Megadeth, but I just can't for some reason. Can someone reccomend some good thrash bands/albums for me?

MAthiAS 06-30-2005 11:55 PM
Metallica and Slayer are pretty much the only speed/thrash bands I listen to. I have tried to get into Megadeth, but I just can't for some reason. Can someone reccomend some good thrash bands/albums for me?
Megadeth (check out Rust in Peace and Killing is my Business)
Anthrax - Spreading the Disease and Among the Living
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Destruction - The Antichrist
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Exodus - Bonded by Blood
Testament - The Legacy
Coroner - Punishment for Decadence

There's some essentials to get you started. If you want song recommendations, just ask. Oh yeah, check out Heathen, you can download their first two albums at http://www.heathenmetal.com
