Anyone agree that Kezia own Fortress? I was listening to teh Kez today and it was a-maze-ing.
I'm still yet to appreciate Fortress as I havent been into PTH very long and I'm still so hooked on Kezia and a bunch of other stuff.

Sequioa Throne grabs me by the balls and doesn't let go though.

beans 04-05-2008 03:19 PM

love the first 30 secs of that song, effing ace

Tyler 04-05-2008 03:20 PM

Sequoia Throne is the weakest on the album for me.

beans 04-05-2008 03:21 PM

i dont like it a lot, but the first part of it freakin kills, i just wish that the whole song carried the tone that was set in the first 30 secs

FreeSmells 04-05-2008 03:23 PM

The worst track is definitely the opening one.

beans 04-05-2008 03:24 PM

hell naw bloodmeat is ace

FreeSmells 04-05-2008 03:25 PM

I hate that song. The rest of the album is solid though.
I had to stop listening to it cuz I was starting to play it out.

beans 04-05-2008 03:26 PM

that sucks, i really enjoy it, i really dont like spoils, but its still pretty good for the most part

FreeSmells 04-05-2008 03:29 PM

Yeah i enjoyed it too much, I put a ban on that album for at least another month so I don't get sick of it too fast.

beans 04-05-2008 03:31 PM

it was lodged in my ccd player for a good month too, and i've listened to it very sparingly within the past 2 months or so, i dont wanna get sick of it either

guitarded_chuck 04-05-2008 04:03 PM

I smoked a joint with PtH post-show last summer FTW

alytee123 04-05-2008 04:09 PM
I smoked a joint with PtH post-show last summer FTW
Lucky guy, I'd be jealous but I've given up, for a while at least. At least until PtH come over here and I can do the same.

Pastorius 04-05-2008 04:23 PM

Nice, would be interesting to get stoned with them I think. I've given up for the past week! Not through choice :(

beans 04-05-2008 04:48 PM

yeah i've cut down a bit, by choice with me though.
You get caught or something?
gotta get a job or what?

Pastorius 04-05-2008 04:58 PM

Can't afford any at the moment, and all my buds with bud (lulz) are a 45 minute drive away, and I cant' drive!

beans 04-05-2008 04:59 PM
and all my buds with bud (lulz)

that sucks man, i got mad buds right now, just got picked, fresh as ****, really sticky too

Capricious 04-06-2008 04:23 PM

Getting stoked up again for PTH; going to see em for a couple dates soon. I don't expect any more professionalism [than that they currently hold themselves to; show up, merch it up, preform, stay n' drink or GTFO] out of the band since there fallout on the Silverstein tour during the southwestern leg. Or maybe it was all lies and they just really wanted to dump the tour.
Although if they wanted to step it up it would be cool if Arif took some stage presence away from Rody, or even just upped the banter, he seems the fan Fav; if we just get a little more of his personality to latch on to.

Bonus points for the new opening song on this tour being limb from limb!

Tyler 04-06-2008 04:44 PM

They dropped the tour for professionalism's sake, buddeh.

Pastorius 04-06-2008 04:47 PM

I'm not your buddeh, guy

shortz 04-06-2008 07:29 PM

Even though I love Rodys' banter, I agree with you Capricious in havin' Arif stealin' some light from Rody. I spoke to him (Arif) once and from the 2 minute conversation I had he just seemed like a really likeable and chill guy. That could also have been 'cause he had been drinking but nonetheless...

I wonder who else is on the Canadian leg of this tour besides the obvious Chiodos (eww) and Fall of Troy. I'm excited for the 16th, going to be a fun night for sure.

Tyler 04-06-2008 07:40 PM

Arif doesn't have much to say on stage, trust me. He used to talk a lot more at gigs and he'd get lost in his words. He's probably the most willing to chat after shows though. Rody is the frontman for a reason.
They dropped the tour for professionalism's sake, buddeh.
Professionalism at it's peak: http://a134.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/88/l_e9ae0d3575d6fc1a529b2e304e321c8d.jpg

That picture illustrates Rody so well.

A monster truck shirt and what looks like Shiner Bock.

Is he in the South?

Benzilla 04-06-2008 08:25 PM
A monster truck shirt and what looks like Shiner Bock.

I guess, I hear he likes the South.
Bonus points for the new opening song on this tour being limb from limb!
It's probably because it sounds like it's one of the hardest songs to do. He's got some serious vocal work going in that song, Åkerfeldt esque death grunts right before he belts out "Flidais rides again."

Josh D. 04-06-2008 08:26 PM
I guess, I hear he likes the South.
For some reason, I have to doubt that unless he has some very specific reasons.

And I think Akerfeldt is a big stretch.

McP3000 04-06-2008 08:42 PM

ok, so earlier today i was listening to Fortress in my car and i have decided that Fortress>Kezia

jebus FX 04-06-2008 09:38 PM

I just downloaded their A Calculated Use of Sound EP and it's really good, anybody else like it?

Tyler 04-06-2008 09:45 PM

I love it for personal reasons. It's lacking at parts but given their age it rules. I Am Dmitri is the best thing the've written.

jebus FX 04-06-2008 09:58 PM

how old were they? 18?

Tyler 04-06-2008 09:59 PM

Closer to 16

kattunlover69 04-06-2008 10:12 PM

better than black tide's **** at that age

McP3000 04-06-2008 11:35 PM
Closer to 16
wow, thats damn good music for their age

I have a hard time listening to it because Kezia and Fortress are soooooo much better. Its a lot different too. Reminded me of old System Of A Down for some reason.

sweboy 04-07-2008 07:38 AM

A Calculated Use of Sound > Fortress

yeah that's right I went there what are you gonna do about it

Dimmu Burger 04-07-2008 08:36 AM
A Calculated Use of Sound > Fortress

I'll tell you what I'm gonna do:

Disagree.

Tyler 04-07-2008 10:47 AM

the EP was better before they remastered it and threw Soft Targets awkwardly in the middle.

The Dissentience 04-07-2008 12:57 PM

Seconded.

Interesting, I sent a friend their myspace link before they posted any songs off of Fortress and he said generally the same thing.

Capricious 04-08-2008 06:16 AM

I never felt myself that soft targets was out of place, It still has the same feel as most of ACUOS. Guess i never really over analyzed that album though, just thought it was a small bummer that it wasn't in the lyric sheet for the remastered edition.

Re: Limb from limb being the first song on this tour; i thought opening with the intro when touring a better choice. Gives fans time to get all ammped up and eases(maybe) folks who never heard of PTH before a minuet before the onslaught begins.

No kidding? I think just the way the vocals are goofy sounding and the political stuff.
